When are we going to address the poor life expectancy for black men?

When are we going to address the poor outcomes for black women during childbirth?

What can be done?

@lannistunut do you mean section 5 of the article? The bit that shows all causes is in section 4 - see the table.

Thanks! Will look.

I didn’t Google ‘celebrities who died’, I gave a list of young people’s deaths that had struck me as tragic, for whatever reason.

Pointless to the post.

No it isn’t, I was just giving an example of a group of people who had died young, just like the OP was giving an example of rappers who had died young. Showing that a group of people who are famous can die of many different factors, not just drugs. Just like non famous people can. I was trying to show that black rappers are not dying from one thing targeting black rappers. Obviously I didn’t show that well enough for you, and I apologise profusely.

@PatricksRum if you intended to post a deliberately muddled OP to generate posts showing confusion, rage and fury then you did a great job!

If you want to address racism as it impacts pregnant black women and black American rappers, then each needs its own thread.

beneathhereyes · 29/09/2022 15:27

The two issues are not even remotely conflatable. I am very concerned though about structural racism within our health care that is detrimentally affecting the outcomes of pregnant WOC. What am I doing about it? I'm attempting to read the reports, follow campaigners on social media to understand how this could be happening, and sharing on posts to amplify Black/brown voices.
