When are we going to address the poor life expectancy for black men?

When are we going to address the poor outcomes for black women during childbirth?

What can be done?

If you don't like hearing that the English diaspora reconsider repatriation cos of the groomer gangs and "non criminal hate incidents", then you're a delusional idiot. The world hears every time, and it's shameful.

Nobody wants you back in the country.

SoupDragon · 29/09/2022 07:55

Whilst I don't disagree with the sentiment behind the OP, I don't think rappers are a great example to use as their lifestyle detracts from the issue you are trying to raise.

Sniffypete · 29/09/2022 07:55

Actually, evidence shows that black Africans in the UK have a higher life expectancy than other ethnic groups.

Michael Jackson, Prince… but they weren’t living normal lives. Both painkillers wasn’t it?

Lopilo · 29/09/2022 08:02

The lifestyle choices of many well known people in the music industry can impact on life expectancy. This particular group of men would have been able to afford very good medical care and support.

TerrysGotPeeves · 29/09/2022 08:04

@CarrieCrow , what the fuck are you actually trying to say? None of your posts make any sense whatsoever.

CarrieCrow · 29/09/2022 08:05

Hopefully you are not tutoring your DCs with English! I won national prizes in it. Oh no!!

PixellatedPixie · 29/09/2022 08:07

CarrieCrow · 29/09/2022 06:58

Highly concerned about that too.
We are both from English families enduring physical difficulties resulting from living in climates we are not evolutionarily suited to, yet unwilling to return to the UK because of this and other policing issues.
Very sad.

What climate are English people not evolutionarily suited to? Do you mean you are living in a very hot place even though it doesn’t suit you as a Caucasian but you don’t want to return to England because your children might be trafficked by Asian gangs? WTH? Why don’t you just move back to an area that has no trafficking issues. It’s extremely rare for that to occur in the UK anyway. I bet the country you live in has widespread issues threatening young people in some way anyway?

RedToothBrush · 29/09/2022 08:09

I get your argument but those young men aren't necessarily representative.

I could come up with a list of
Kurt Cobain
James Dean
Jim Morrisson
Ian Drury

No one makes much of a point of the famous singers who live a long life.

Its lifestyle. And there are plenty of white stars who Cark it prematurely because of the culture of fame.

Yes there are issues with black men (in the US in particular) having a shorter life. But the issue needs to be assessed by looking purely at over all life expectancy. Not using the examples of famous black men in an unscientific anecdotal fashion.

CarrieCrow · 29/09/2022 08:09

Very much hope you find answers to your questions

SavingsThreads · 29/09/2022 08:09

Fucking hell the racism on this thread. It's too early in the morning for this much shit.

And too many of you need to understand the concept of structural inequalities that come into play for drugs/heart attacks/ other non violent causes of death.

Add to that Taylor Hawkings' death just recently.

CarrieCrow · 29/09/2022 08:13

I mean what can I say? BIL had a daughter raped with no repercussions...you can demonise me all you like but that will NEVER happen to my daughter
Bicker amongst yourselves, if DD is ever molested the police will respond
Can you say the same?
Disgraceful!!

TerrysGotPeeves · 29/09/2022 08:18

@CarrieCrow No, I'm not. You're still not making any sense though. And straying into victim blaming. I think that you are the disgraceful person here.

We are talking specifically about rappers, a subset of people known for their hedonistic lifestyles which they are quite proud of. It’s their own choice to live the way they do, and perhaps they wouldn’t have had it any other way.

tbh it’s amazing Coolio made it this far; don’t forget that the guy from Foo Fighters and another guy from Depeche Mode died recently—pretty sure their rock and roll lifestyles (& demanding road tours) contributed to their early demise.

TerrysGotPeeves · 29/09/2022 08:22

Oh and by the way @CarrieCrow@CarrieCrow, when I was brutally raped and strangled, it was by a white man. But that is not at all what this thread is about, so perhaps you could stop derailing it?

Can I ask about the childbirth situation; I have seen this discussed multiple times within society over the last few years. So if it’s known about, why is it still happening? Surely the deep rooted racism cannot be that prevalent that staff actually dismiss women’s pain purely because they’re black?

That makes me feel sick.

Yabado · 29/09/2022 08:27

My neighbour
age 56
male
black long

very term over 25 years of being a functioning crack and weed user died a few weeks ago
Exactly 2 years ago had a heart attack so a warning to maybe change his lifestyle and not smoke a drug named after a part of your ass but he didn’t so he’s now dead

I can think of several other black & white men & women that I know with similar drug habits that have died under the age of 60

I can’t think of that many long term term drug users who get to live above 60

if you take drugs it’s unlikely that you you aren’t going to live a long life

its a drug thing
