Harry - regretful?

Brasschamberstick · 20/09/2022 10:40

Do we think after seeing the magnificence of yesterday that he is regretting giving it all up?

He looks so angry and unhappy all the time now?

I’d hope he’s looking miserable because of all the grief he put a very old grandmother through shortly before she died.
Though whether he’s actually feeling any remorse I wouldn’t like to say.

Hope Andrew is also feeling remorse for what he put his mother through.

I don't know why generally people assume meghan is behind everything. Harry was vocal long before meeting her about hating the media here and actually said at least once, possibly more, that he wasn't a huge fan of it here. He's a grown man and personally I don't think there's anything to suggest he's being coerced by her or anything.

Exactly

Common decency? I don't think anyone in the Royal Family has a spotless record except maybe the late Queen and Princess Anne. Many of them have spoken to the press or been otherwise indiscreet. Sitting in stony silence doesn't reflect well on Sophie IMO and I recall she was like that towards Meghan at the Commonwealth service too. I don't think Meghan's 'crimes' merit being publicly snubbed.

Well if it is true that Sophie gave Meghan the cold shoulder, it shows that Sophie lacks class and grace . Two of the attributes that the late queen possessed

SilverLiningPlaybook · 20/09/2022 22:01

Class and Grace? Which one of those two women shows more class and Grace do you think?

antelopevalley · 20/09/2022 22:03

It is true that totally ignoring someone is pretty awful. Not the way I was brought up But this issue has come up before in Royal discussion threads and I have been told it is perfectly fine for family to totally ignore another family member if you have good reasons. Those reasons are never that your relative is a sexual abuser.

Everytime I read one of these hateful threads , I understand even more why these two left England.
Some people really want them to fail, but I truly believe that they will be vindicated in the coming months /years.
As I have said on previous threads, Harry and Meghan will be the least of the Royal family’s

problems now that the Queen has died.
All the ‘real’ secrets will come out.

Left "England"...so they still live in Scotland, Norther Ireland and Wales.

You mean left the UK.

My gosh why does everyone outside of the UK think the UK is England 🤦🏻‍♀️

There is even a bloody Prince and Princess of Wales. Where do people think they are prince and Princess of? Somewhere west of London? 😂

Anyway apologies, I don't mean to derail.

I’ve consumed hours of queen-related media these past 12 days and haven’t heard her referred to as the Queen of England once.

GoingOnce · 21/09/2022 00:54

I expect Harry will get back home, stick his shorts on, roll around in the garden with the kids and think, 'Thank fuck that's over'.

I disagree. He may put his shorts on but he’ll brood and stew over the events of the past 12 days endlessly until Meghan directs him to the nearest victim culture podcast he can open his heart to and discuss his authentic self. He’ll then flog his book on talk shows and give interviews dissecting his grief and trauma. All the while reading the inevitable backlash online and in print. It does not sound like a roll in the grass to me but it is coming, as sure as night follows day.

Totally agree. You missed the bit where Meghan goes on talk shows and gives more interviews to magazines about how nasty and cold Harrys family were to her at the funeral. How PC prevented her from rushing to the Queens side as she lay dying. Because of course she was the favourite that the Queen would most have wanted to see. PH has already been moaning that he was the last one to be told of her death. Five mins before the public apparently.
It’s all to come…

I think Mr Bennett said it best: ‘for what do we live for, to make sport for our neighbours and laugh at them in our turn’.
I think this is the fascination with them, that they are just the same as us only richer and with dodgy morals.
I will say though, when defending Meghan to the hilt, it’s important to remember what Harry and Meghan have said themselves, that she has ‘misled the court’: she had to apologise, and she and Harry can’t be too bothered about dodgy uncle Andy, that’s where she first met the queen (at Royal Lodge, Oprah interview).
I wouldn’t go anywhere near Andrew, just for clarity and if anyone thinks I am defending him.

RaisingYankeesinParis · 21/09/2022 06:59

Umm. No. I am an American and I hadn’t heard of her until she dated Harry. That’s why she was in a Canadian series, because she hadn’t hit the jackpot yet in US and had no name recognition. I remind you that she was closer to 40 than not. Which like it or not is the kiss of death in that world. Plus I live in France and no one had heard of her here.

she was in a movie I love playing the UPS delivery girl for 2 minutes.

The Royal family has a hardcore prenup, as they should, and a divorce won’t bring her anything.

I think the Royal Family has been unbelievably magnanimous, testifying to how much they love Harry, by not stripping those kids of their titles after the Oprah interview.

A 50-yr old Meghan, without Harry, will do what? She can’t sleep her way up anymore, can’t get work, burned all her bridges … her last hope would be a dignified retirement with some 70 yr old silicon billionaire.

RaisingYankeesinParis · 21/09/2022 07:02

They won’t do any good in America. We have altogether too much useless woke crap spewing out of our own pseudo aristocracy. Look at the nonsense when they tried to put migrants in Martha’s Vinyard. Woke people good for nothing

Agree with this being the likely scenario.
Wealth certainly does not bring happiness.

Harry's wife might be happy, as she relishes attention, for good or ill, but Harry looks genuinely unhappy.
A chap called H.G.Tudor reckons Harry is in the devaluation stage of his relationship.
He'll be squeezed for all his 'Value' before the ultimate discard.

Rings in the post for him, too.

Hopefully not for his sake. He's not a happy man.

I think the silence between them was due to the occasion.

Completely agree. If they’d all been chatting and laughing together on the steps of the church, there’d have been huge complaints. They were all “on duty”. It was a state occasion, watched by billions and they all had to play their part.

BitossiBlues · 21/09/2022 08:08

Give over. If Meghan and Harry can express their every feeling on their family relationships via Oprah and Spotify, then it's quite the hypocritical double standard to say Sophie is not allowed to express her feelings about them via nothing more than stony silence. The Queen herself could have given a masterclass on stoical silence (and meting out the odd death stare of disapproval).

Why do they call her the Queen of England?

No idea, saw a few American YouTubers when DS was flicking through YouTube refer to her as "The Queen of England"

I've also visited USA a few times and I get the whole oh your British, where in England do you live? I then say I'm not English, they then go Scottish/Irish and I have to say no I'm Welsh and they look at me like I have 5 heads 😂
