Harry - regretful?

Brasschamberstick · 20/09/2022 10:40

Do we think after seeing the magnificence of yesterday that he is regretting giving it all up?

He looks so angry and unhappy all the time now?

@LandofZog Hopefully they both realise their life is in america and they can do a lot of good there. Its the sniping at the RF, lies in self serving books and in interviews, that are quite unecessary. I simply don't understand why they have to behave like this. They have a good life. They have plenty of money. They wanted their children to have a normal life, but the latest is carping of about a bloody HRH prince/princess title. The world is simply confused about what they do and don't want and why they want the connection to the 'Royal' side of the RF instead of just the 'family' side of it. Pity as they could have been great ambassadors, and not put themselves in this ridiculous situation of courting animosity world wide. The press and much of the media and public now hate them, so they just need to stay away from pomp and ceremony (apart from the coronation) and fly in to visit the gramps and cousins quietly and leave quietly.

Jeez...Sounds nightmarish.
How is this known about?
It sounds a bit ''Rough''?
Surely he'd have qualified Nannies on hand?

What is this stuff about a tattooed woman who owns a pit bull (not that there is anything wrong with that)?

I googled, can't see ant reports on a babysitter with a pit bull.
Tattoos wouldn't bother me, but the Pitbull would {Or any dog with small children about}

I thought he looked so relieved at the end when he got in the car with Meghan.

PrincessofWales · 20/09/2022 16:14

I think he's probably missing his kids terribly. Meghan pulls all the strings, he's not allowed an opinion anymore.

DocD · 20/09/2022 16:18

@BlodynGwyn spat my tea out at your post.
The ‘decent honest world he left behind’. You are either trolling or live in a fantasy world. The Royal Family is rolling in lies- financial, policy making, tax…
There are all sorts of affairs that have happened - the worst deception of course being Harry’s dad the Tampon King. There have been numerous lies spun over the years, but here is a cracking PR team on hand to try and diminish the stories told about the working royals. If you have dared to step away from The Firm then you are going to get the world’s best PR people spinning against you - hence the shit show that is currently in the Daily Mail et al.

I agree. Harry and Meghan were totally cold shouldered. Jack Brooksbank couldn't even acknowledge Harry. Sophie was looking daggers. Not very nice but who knows what's been happening behind the scenes. For some of you Harry is a social justice warrior but for his family who have known him all of their lives he's a well loved family member who's turned into a bit of a plonker.

The only known truth in that whole harangue was your question, ‘Who knows what's been happening behind the scenes [?]’, which you’ve used to suggest that nobody knows.

I'm just a little younger than Princess Di. She was actively courting the paparazzi in the weeks before she died

Sure, but that was after 2 decades of being relentlessly pursued and harassed by the media. She had clearly decided that, as the media were never going to let up, she might as well try to exert some control over how they covered her. That is not the same as someone seeking celebrity for its own sake.

But there were reasons why the press seemed to know every time she set foot out of the door, they've said so themselves, they would be notified by her office where she ws going to be.

I think the missing word is coercion.

Anonymouseposter · 20/09/2022 16:32

the latest is carping about a HRH Princess title. Has anyone heard this from them directly or did you read it in the Daily Express. As derxasaid none of us have any idea what’s being said behind the scenes and people are just making things up. I hope all the Royal family are able to ignore it.

midsomermurderess · 20/09/2022 16:36

It depends on what you think, all things in the balance, that he’s given up. He was deeply worried about the effect living here was having on his wife’s mental health, resulting from the endless vitriol poured on her, and he has already lost a significant woman in his life. He’s clearly close to his cousins and nieces and nephews and I’m sure, in some cases, they can arrange private visits, perhaps to the US. Living under public scrutiny where even holding your spouse’s hand leads to torrents of abuse, when people endlessly, and often, spitefully, speculate about your every move; it must be horrible.

Eugenie and Jack have visited them in California fairly recently.

There didn't seem to be a lot of public interaction among any of the RF to be fair. It was, after all, a funeral, not a major social event.

But there were reasons why the press seemed to know every time she set foot out of the door, they've said so themselves, they would be notified by her office where she ws going to be.

One of the major reasons the press knew where she was going to be was phone hacking.

Diana became paranoid that people in her inner circle were leaking, it's one of the reasons she didn't trust her royal security. Martin Bashir played on this to get his interview with her by forging documents that implied her personal staff were being paid to spy on her.

She did the interview, everything got worse, she got more paranoid and the leaks carried on. Because all the time her staff were loyal but the press were hacking their phones.

It's a bitchy comment about his MIL. According to a ridiculous and racist (Who is Dis?) headline she unveiled a new tattoo a few weeks ago. Doria was papped out walking her dog minding her own business she wasn't unveiling anything.

Foronenightonly01 · 20/09/2022 16:49

Diana very much did let the paps know when & where to find her. My cousin was a pap (thank God he eventually forged a better career!!) but her office would call
and let them know quite regularly. His was one of the photos that became very well known. As he said, he did it to make ends meet - and she courted it so he feels no shame.

Cam22 · 20/09/2022 16:50

I feel sorry for him, now. He can’t win.

pictish · 20/09/2022 16:51

God it’s so annoying when people post as though they know Harry personally. Lots of it on here…sheer conjecture.

Cam22 · 20/09/2022 16:52

I think racism is at the heart of it all. That is shameful.

This is a horrible thread, full of nasty vindictive accusations and made up "facts" and assumptions about people you know sweet FA about.

It's possible for both to be true - there were times when she highlighted where she was as she wanted the photos, and there were times when she thought she had privacy but did not.

Will reword. I find it very sad for the family that it's all out in the public domain and not good advice to have given to Harry and Meghan. Imagine the conversation with the therapist:
Harry: I'm really angry with my family. My wife was suicidal when she was pregnant and they seemed to be more worried what colour his skin might turn out! And these stories in the press, I'm sure their staff are leaking them and their not putting a stop to it.
Therapist: Why don't you have a nice chat about with Oprah Winfrey on international television. That will clear the air!
