Harry - regretful?

Do we think after seeing the magnificence of yesterday that he is regretting giving it all up?

He looks so angry and unhappy all the time now?

There hasn't been multiple books or multiple interviews for which they've been paid. People on here really do spout bullshit.

DocD · 20/09/2022 15:17

As a recovering alcoholic with a father who is an alcoholic he has a LOT of healing to do before he is in a place to move on. The anger is very normal, it is part of the process. I have a great feeling about him for the future but he has a lot of mud to trudge through first. Lets hope it ends up in a good place for them and he can 'detach with love' from his Dad.

Absolute rubbish . William and Catherine look totally at ease with each other.

I have no idea if they will remain married until one dies, or will separate.

But they do not look relaxed around each other. And if the children are around and seating plans are not dictated, they have a child sitting in between them.

idontthinksodou · 20/09/2022 15:21

I think he was really sad about his grandmother dying and that he didn't get to see her before she passed. I also think he misses having his royal titles etc but I don't think he regrets his decision to leave given the treatment of the UK media and the trauma caused by his mother's death

The difference being I guess that Philip was more intelligent in a century he made a few gaffes. Harry it's an ongoing gaffes festival

Philips frequent racism and misogyny was always described as gaffes, and there were more than just a few.
Harrys racism is rightly seen as racism.

I wish though people would hold them all to the same standards. But they do not.

Anonymouseposter · 20/09/2022 15:22

I don't like the way Harry and Meghan have spoken in public, but the way the press has treated them as been horrible, even in the last few days.
"Body language experts" commenting on every move they make and putting a negative spin on it.
Even Nicholas "Uriah" Witchell being snide in his comments.
"Insiders" who claim to know their feelings and write about them.
They can't do right for doing wrong.
The Daily Express and the Daily Mail have been nothing short of disgusting.
I would imagine H&M will be very glad to leave.
If the King wants to build bridges and heal rifts in his family, I would guess that he is pretty pissed off with it too, especially at a time he has a lot of other pressures to deal with.
So no, I think they will have been reminded exactly why they wanted out in the first place.

I wouldn't have any regrets if I were him.

Me neither.

mmmflakycrust81 · 20/09/2022 15:27

He saw how the media and the public treated his mother and how she died way before her time. He has spoken about seeing the woman he loves under the stress of the obligations as well as all the racism and made the decision to leave and go live somewhere else where they can have more control over what they expose themselves to.

I honestly dont understand the backlash to this.

He doesn't look like a happy man

I think he regrets not marrying Arabella from the Home Counties, or whoever

Harry would never have settled for Arabella and the country life. I see him more as a Peter Stringfellow. He should have married a singer with Farah Fawcett hair. Meghan is too well groomed. I imagine California probably suits him but not his current work.

I also think Harry is always going to be looking for something better.

There was no internet and the press were more deferential.

Wheresthebeach · 20/09/2022 15:33

I suspect anyone who has a family rift is regretful, esp at a time like this. He must regret causing his grandmother pain and upset in her last years...I'm not a fan at all but I'd be surprised if he didn't. Doesn't mean he'd do it differently mind.

justasking111 · 20/09/2022 15:33

The whole family thing is toxic as in other royal families I suspect.

I imagine that Sophie has the inside track on how all of the upset H and M have caused the family has upset the Queen. She is probably very angry and upset about it as she was very close to the Queen. What would she have to say to Meghan after all that? In families if someone betrays them and bad mouths them, that person is usually treated as a black sheep. This one is no different.

I agree. Harry and Meghan were totally cold shouldered. Jack Brooksbank couldn't even acknowledge Harry. Sophie was looking daggers. Not very nice but who knows what's been happening behind the scenes. For some of you Harry is a social justice warrior but for his family who have known him all of their lives he's a well loved family member who's turned into a bit of a plonker.

antelopevalley · 20/09/2022 15:16

It looked incredibly disrespectful.

I agree it was disrespectful. It was obviously a culture clash.

But "evangelical" is not the right word. Bishop Curry is the Presiding Bishop and Primate of the Episcopal Church in the US, which is part of the Anglican Communion, so roughly equivalent to the Church of England. Bishop Curry's position in the US is similar to the Archbishop of Canterbury. His style of preaching has elements drawn from evangelical African American religious traditions (which is one reason that the smirking seemed particularly objectionable), but the US Episcopal Church is not part of evangelical protestantism in the US.

this is so true. He's not the sharpest pencil in the box, and a bit of a rebel, and I do think he genuinely hates the limelight but he's somehow got himself caught up with this woman who pathologically LOVES the limelight (all attention good or bad!à.

Yes to this too.

I'd look pretty unhappy too if my every move and facial expression was criticised online and in the press. Just let these people live?!

She's not "set for life". He can come back to England when they separate, remarry some former model and live discretely. Which is what I think he would LOVE to do.

She is 40 now, and her hustling days are therefore very numbered. Acting opportunities will not exist: she's too recognisable and notorious. She has no talents, is too controversial. A divorce won't benefit

Money is a very finite thing, and the public is easily bored. Stuff gets old fast. I just don't know how they do it now, let alone when they/she have no game left.

People in the UK are un-aware of the allies Meghan has in America, 2 black billionaires love her, Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry, Perry gave them a mansion when they arrived in the US, the guy hadn't even met Meghan. Perry and Oprah are BILLIONAIRES, don't worry about Meghan, they have her back.

She has a huge black following in the US, up there with Serena Williams as a strong black woman for the millions and millions of black American women who will always be interested in her. Contrary to popular belief she wasn't a Z list actor, she was star in a hugely successful TV show watched by millions, and she was a multi -millionaire before she met Harry, she had millions.

Regardless of that, any woman who marries the son of the King of England is set for life, she could divorce Harry tomorrow and be set for life. The whole world will always want to hear what she says. A divorce would put her on every newspaper for years to come. Remember her children are the grandchildren to the King, their father is the son to the King, she will always be high profile. To think otherwise is wishful thinking from people who hate her....for whatever reason.

King of England No such title

Yes to this too.

Horrible thing to say about Meghan.

I think none of the Royal Family are that bright.

Rosehugger · 20/09/2022 15:56

I doubt it. I bet they couldn't wait to be out of there again.

Teddletoddle · 20/09/2022 14:21

@daisychain01 . So if Harry should be given his many follies, should we forgive Andrew his indiscretions which were never proved?
I am afraid I think Islamophobia is often ignored when compared to other types of racism
Mohammed Shafiq, director of Muslim youth organisation the Ramadan Foundation, said the comments would be offensive to many Asians.
"The use of this sort of racism has no justification and I am saddened by those that are advocating using this term is not racist," he said.

Christ @Teddletoddle are you serious 'indiscretions'? Is that what you call associating with a known paedophile after they have pled guilty and having had parties with the same man, who sourced and trafficked underage girls for said parties. This may have gone on whilst he was married or newly separated! Photographic evidence of him there. And when said man pays a massive massive settlement to shush up the complainant? If he was so innocent why didn't he go to court like he said he would...his main defense revolved around the 'fact' that he couldn't sweat 'at the time'. Never proven? Oh and mummy the queen provided part of the 12 MILLION pounds to settle it. That's £12,000,000,000. This is the same guy who's ex wife offered access to him (basically to pump him out!) for £500,000 to a fake sheikh journalist sting. Then tried (and failed!) to sue for £40 million! The paedophile prince and the desperate duchess. I'm sure they are all innocent 😳🫣 but those donkeys make Harry and Meghan look like Joseph and Mary..

Purplefoxes · 20/09/2022 16:01

Damn there not being an edit button...12,000,000!
