The bit at the end with the Lord Chamberlain will be the hardest to watch I think, signaling the end of his service to her, as will the act of separating her from her crown.

George and Charlotte have done very well- mine couldn’t have sat through it. My 3yo seems to be obsessed with who will take off the standard and whether the queen can hear from the box. I don’t think she really gets death at all. I thought my 6yo would be interested but she said it was too sad and didn’t want to watch which is fine so she’s playing in the garden.

Glad I'm not the only one hating this organ music. It's not the most melodic instruments at the best of times but this is particularly bad...

I bet Anne was the first to drop a curtsey and address him as Your Majesty, before the tears started to flow. I remember in The King's Speech, when Gorge V died his widow curtseyed to her son Edward VIII immediately.

There's so much team effort in this service but I'm assuming there's only one organist

Have to agree, some organ music can sound amazing but this stuff is dreary and discordant.

I think the organ music is supposed to sound a bit dreadful. Depressing, at least. It's a funeral after all.

The late Queen no longer reigns

The service was so impersonal and underwhelming. I don’t understand it at all. No memories from her life, I’m really confused how she was so remote from her own funeral.

Just said to my husband.. it's the endless suspensions in some organ music that I can't abide but it is definitely fitting.

Finally it’s over.

Apparently the Queen requested that God Save The King be sang. What a sweet gesture to her son and to reinforce that life goes on.

Thank god the organ has finished....oops no, just a new tune
