This is a real good guide for all the timings for tomorrow - www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60617519

The bit at the end with the Lord Chamberlain will be the hardest to watch I think, signaling the end of his service to her, as will the act of separating her from her crown.

I know everyone isn't a royalist but today will be such a sad occasion.

We didn't, either. I was entertaining f the baby and my three year old was doing a Peppa Pig drag-and-drop game. 'Hello, Mr. Potato! Hello, Suzy Sheep!'.

'In the midst of life, we are in death', according to the BCP. More the other way around, in this house!

Don’t mind me, I can’t stand my neighbours so am biased! I have to hear them all shouting at each other on a daily basis. I’d smile to hear your family through my wall instead

saraclara · 19/09/2022 12:04

Tune, even

Benefi · 19/09/2022 12:04

I bet Charles is glad he doesn't ever have to sing the National Anthem again. It must grate after the years.

Even as a complete non-Royalist I sometimes find myself humming or singing a line as I put the laundry out or go to brush my teeth. I wonder if Charles is the same.

Pedallleur · 19/09/2022 12:04

Jellykat · 19/09/2022 12:02

Thought the same!

But the moment the Queen was pronounced dead someone would have immediately addressed him as Your Majesty. It's a succession thing.

jay55 · 19/09/2022 12:04

I bet they'll all have a good cry at Windsor, and probably a good few slugs from a hip flask.

LetMeSpeak · 19/09/2022 12:04

Every single rendition of our national anthem In Westminster abbey (even though I don’t like the context of it) is so beautiful.

LetMeSpeak · 19/09/2022 12:02

I’m still not saying “king” until the after the coronation.

I think there was a lot of Quing happening. Not sure which word to use

user764329056 · 19/09/2022 12:05

The fading of the piper ……..

ehb102 · 19/09/2022 12:05

King Charles' face!

May his reign be a golden age, like that of Edward VII after a long reigning Queen.

GoingOnce · 19/09/2022 12:05

Edward and Sophie are so choked up. It’s hard to watch.

The Queen’s state funeral is not about diversity.
That is pretty obvious.

Far more diverse than, say, Mandela's!

SO224350 · 19/09/2022 12:05

I wonder if at her fathers funeral they sang God save the Queen ?

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 19/09/2022 12:05

The time he's playing is called 'Sleep Dearie, Sleep

That's made me even more emotional

KenAdams · 19/09/2022 12:06

The piper was gorgeous.

I'll start a second thread for when this one is full.

God save the king just threw me. Ive had ten days to get used to it.

It does seem brutal, after he’s been gazing at his mother’s coffin. It must really bring home the heavy weight of this legacy

tableanadchairs · 19/09/2022 12:06

Charles wiping his eyes :(

spanieleyes · 19/09/2022 12:06

Now, how on earth do they get everyone out!

The Queen’s state funeral is not about diversity.
That is pretty obvious.

The guest list was pretty diverse.

Rapidtango · 19/09/2022 12:06

Sleep, Dearie, Sleep. Sad

the80sweregreat · 19/09/2022 12:06

Such a dignified service , but the lone piper as he faded away set me off again.

Sunbird24 · 19/09/2022 12:06

Here come the bearer party

Skodacool · 19/09/2022 12:07

DriftingDora · 19/09/2022 11:25

The music and singing is just superb. And she would probably have loved the dropped piece of paper and the spider on the flowers!

I’m sure she would

EdieLedwell · 19/09/2022 12:07

Here come the Bearer party 😩

SO224350 · 19/09/2022 12:05

I wonder if at her fathers funeral they sang God save the Queen ?

I presume they must have done. After all, there's no point wishing him long to reign over us if he's dead. I guess it's the same logic now?

RainbowZebraWarrior · 19/09/2022 12:07

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2022 11:59

I like the orange candles

They are beeswax and smell heavenly when lit.

I'm a beekeeper and make them occasionally. It's brought me a lot of comfort to see HM surrounded by these wonderful candles during her lying in state and today.
