This is a real good guide for all the timings for tomorrow - www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60617519

The bit at the end with the Lord Chamberlain will be the hardest to watch I think, signaling the end of his service to her, as will the act of separating her from her crown.

I know everyone isn't a royalist but today will be such a sad occasion.

The choir has been simply outstanding.

I agree. Stunning

To just address this comment, yes is the answer

There is a huge issue with white working class boys and the cultural rhetoric in some families that education isnt important or too cool for school type of views. Hence there are poor outcomes in education for that demographic, its a big problem

Working hard pays for attending universities? Working hard pays for money you need to pay to survive- pupil barristers , getting postgraduate qualifications? Working hard to enter the media with no family contacts to get you an internship, again which means getting money to support yourself...

It's all about hard work , nothing to do with parental support.....Anyway back to her majesty...

On the other hand, women are prominent in the service.

I think this very symbolic as the queen is the longest reigning monarch and until she changed the rules it was mainly males in line.

Well, there still is but her change of rules will change this over time.

Its the piper that will set me off again

And how are people seeing the royal family in such detail such as mascara running, Im watching the BBC are there different close ups on other channels?

herecomesthsun · 19/09/2022 11:55

Go out O Christian Soul...may thy portion this day be in peace...[and thy dwelling]...in the Heavenly Jerusalem.

Actually I'm not sure there are benches in the front row of the choir now, just got a better view. So might be the red ones have to stand. But they have to be there in order to see the conductor and hear the rest of the choir.

I saw benches

FetlocksBlowingInTheWind · 19/09/2022 11:56

Come on people...now isn't the time for sniping and point scoring, even if what you're saying is valid.

Be in the moment.

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2022 11:57

Yes I was wondering how people are seeing mascara running.

bendmeoverbackwards · 19/09/2022 11:57

I am so impressed how impeccably behaved George and Charlotte are. Especially Charlotte at only 7 years of age.

Gonksmum · 19/09/2022 11:57

The choir's singing is heavenly.

LetMeSpeak · 19/09/2022 11:57

Well that funereal went rather quickly. Short and sweet

I was wondering that. Also watching on the Beeb and there's hardly been any close ups of the family - which I'm sure they'll prefer.

What is the significance of the choir boys in red? They look like little Chelsea pensioners!

They do!

I find it awe-inspiring how hardly anyone is crying. I only saw Prince Edward cry.
I’m a Republican and I cried just because of the music and the solemnity.

Charles wiped his face during the procession and just before entering the abbey. He did a long sniff as he started walking. Poor man.

Abracadabra12345 · 19/09/2022 11:58

Now they’re showing footage of the public standing or sitting silently and reverently....

Vapeyvapevape · 19/09/2022 11:59

And the world fell silent 😞

Northernlurker · 19/09/2022 11:59

Choir in red are from the Chapel Royal I think

Choir of the Chapel Royal

MrsTimRiggins · 19/09/2022 11:59

that was beautiful, so beautiful. I have even more respect for her that it wasn’t a ridiculously long service too.

Sunbird24 · 19/09/2022 11:59

My next door neighbours didn’t, I could hear them shouting through the wall…

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2022 11:59

I like the orange candles

The shot of the Chelsea Pensioners (I think) nearly got me going and I'm a Republican. They looked so sad.

itsgettingweird · 19/09/2022 12:01

Ok. So I was golfing it together - until the nAtional anthem.

LondonWolf · 19/09/2022 12:01

I'm going to take a walk down to the A4 now - 15 minutes from my house, and hope to see HM go by on her way to Windsor.
