I’m gonna go. Gonna drive up though so if I’m too late I can just come straight home

SquashedFlyBiscuits · 18/09/2022 11:07

@AngeloMysterioso if you are too late, you could just go to Westminster then walk down Whitehall and up the Mall to Buckingham Palace then through Green Park to see the floral tributes. This was what I was planning to do with dc had we got to The Queue and decided that the wait time was too long.

Hillsmakeyoustrong · 18/09/2022 11:37

We have attempted the mall and Buckingham palace two days in a row and it's extremely busy. We haven't been able to get remotely close and the stewards give contrary directions. It's been a bit frustrating tbh. I wish we had just enjoyed the floral tributes in the adjoining parks. The smell of flowers is incredible and the atmosphere is lovely, especially at night with lit beacons and candles.

whynotwhatknot · 18/09/2022 13:24

ah i found you all-hope everyone gets in i dont reckon its long now till they close it just incase it gets to capacity

AngeloMysterioso · 18/09/2022 13:34

I’m in! Well, I’ve got a wristband anyway…

LIZS · 18/09/2022 14:03

Ds got through about 10:15 having joined just before 10 last night.

LIZS · 18/09/2022 14:09

It is not that easy to navigate around Buckingham Palace and the Mall into the parks since the barriers went up and park exits and crossing points limited by security. You tend to be corralled along a particular route which may not lead to where you hope to go.

@DysonSphere
@SquashedFlyBiscuits
Thanks for your help. All going OK. In the final zig zag bit. Hope to get in within the hour or so. My body is complaining a bit. Will be approx 11 hours.

TamSamLam · 18/09/2022 14:56

Anyone still in the queue, I recommend doing bag drop. When I was there it was almost completely empty, so if you've got the energy to walk quickly you can save time before the bit you're supposed cut back in. You do need a bag drop wristband to cut in though.

And overnight several older kids (7ish?) in buggies sleeping soundly, which are probably left so they're only really queueing 3hours from waking. Definitely didn't see any upset children at night.

@AngeloMysterioso Yay you made it in time! Hope the people around you are friendly.

The atmosphere is pretty jovial really… near Southwark cathedral atm so we’re making pretty good time.

DysonSphere · 18/09/2022 16:32

That's brill, maybe you'll get through and out before the end of the day.

@AngeloMysterioso looking at the time stamps on my photos from yesterday, you've probably got around 6 1/2 hours to go. It really is a most pleasant queue isn't it? As you can tell, I have become Queue obsessed.

EmmaH2022 · 18/09/2022 17:56

I’m amazed the Queue is still open! Good luck to all.

does anyone know if floral tributes will be at Green Park the rest of the week? I’d like to go in the evening if there’s candles and beacons etc. Also does it know what the loo situation is over there? I can pop to a pub I guess.

LIZS · 18/09/2022 17:58

There are loos at the Piccadilly end of Green Park.

I hope they keep them open of an evening!

whynotwhatknot · 18/09/2022 18:05

really surprised queue is still open its at butlers wharf (near towerbridge)now

EmmaH2022 · 18/09/2022 18:06

I am trying to explain to my mum that the Queue is like a VIP but she’s not getting it 😂

LIZS · 18/09/2022 18:09

They are green portaloos brought in for the occasion I think, also plenty along the Mall either side.

Fuwari · 18/09/2022 18:10

If you check the tracker it looks like the queue is shrinking. The end doesn't seem to be at the park anymore. Anyone planning a last minute dash? Might be the time to do it!

AngeloMysterioso · 18/09/2022 18:14

On the last tweet at 5:45 it doesn’t tell people not to queue like it had been since 11…

DysonSphere · 18/09/2022 19:18

Wha?? It's still open?!

OP posts:
Fuwari · 18/09/2022 19:28

Queue is at Tower Bridge now so I reckon anyone who is close and wants to go can still make it.

LIZS · 18/09/2022 19:39

Apparently Pritti Patel is out marshalling the queue

DysonSphere · 18/09/2022 19:43

@beccahamlet How was it?
