anyone queuing to see the coffin in London atm?

I am wondering how long the queue is and how the organisation is working out. Are there enough toilets? Is it true that the wristband allows you to leave and come back?

We went to see her in Edinburgh.
joined queue at 23.20, got into St Giles just before 04.00.

it was incredibly well-organised

everyone was rather subdued, talking in lowered voices. Very moving.
being part of such an historic event was incredible.
im so glad we went and will never forget it.

Thanks for your input🙂

I wondered if turning the sharp end up was to signify they were 'on guard'?

I'm giving it till the next guard change & going to bed Sad - could watch this forever, it's mesmerising.

Maybe, i guess being on vigil isnt 'on guard'..

PinkSnowAndStars · 15/09/2022 00:21

How often do the beefeaters etc change over?

this is mesmerising! I was literally on my way to bed!

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 15/09/2022 00:21

Every 20 minutes.

I spy an assistance dog!

QueSyrahSyrah · 15/09/2022 00:07

Surely the Mails '30 hours' proclamation must be taking into account the people who started lining up on Tuesday morning, over 24 hours before the hall even opened?

Yy what I thought too

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 15/09/2022 00:22

Two assistance dogs!

Jellykat · 15/09/2022 00:22

Ok, left hand side still moving, right hand side stopped??

PinkSnowAndStars · 15/09/2022 00:22

Why has the right side stopped?

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 15/09/2022 00:23

There were two taps which usually signifies a change over in the guards.

FlowerTink · 15/09/2022 00:23

I can't work out why they've stopped the right side

MinnyMous · 15/09/2022 00:24

Yeah, I can't work that out either.

Jellykat · 15/09/2022 00:24

I love this bit..

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 15/09/2022 00:25

One of the guards is swaying. They need to change him pronto.

Jellykat · 15/09/2022 00:26

Oops steady...

Jellykat · 15/09/2022 00:26

OMG!!!

bettythebuilder · 15/09/2022 00:26

Man down!

Antarcticant · 15/09/2022 00:26

You are not wrong! He nearly fell then.

ThisUserNameIsAvailableOk · 15/09/2022 00:27

Can't believe people took their toddlers and babies. How else to say "I don't give a shite about the rest of you".

Ridiculous having to listen to that wailing and crying

bettythebuilder · 15/09/2022 00:27

Oh the poor chap

MinnyMous · 15/09/2022 00:27

OMG someone has fallen over.

CrapBucket · 15/09/2022 00:27

Bloody hell hope he's ok!!

Antarcticant · 15/09/2022 00:27

He has fainted. I hope he is OK..

Libre55 · 15/09/2022 00:28

Oh my. One of the guards just fainted. Face down on the floor.

QueSyrahSyrah · 15/09/2022 00:28

Oh shit! What a face plant. I hope he's ok.

He was stumbling before; that's what I dislike about all this pomp; he should have been discreetly walked away before he passed out Sad

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 15/09/2022 00:28

Plenty of medical people there to sort him out. I wondered why they were changing the guards so frequently: that's why.
