What a woman, she is 72 years old !! I can’t believe how amazing she has been in the last few days.

I always knew she was the most hardworking royal , but this week she has been outstanding.

I think she’s great too!

GuyFawkesDay · 12/09/2022 21:43

Saw her at horse trials as a teenager, sorting horse out as all horsey mums do. Totally normal, sweeps up the horse shit like everyone else did!! I've spent an evening in Zara's company back on my younger days when I did a brief stint working in horse racing. She was fab, very normal and funny.

She’s the original for girl power. Love this picture

She’s wonderful. I met her when I was about 4 and gave her flowers. We have the “press” pictures of me handing her a bouquet… but then we have the ones she let my Granny take of her sitting next to me giving me sweeties she had in her pocket.

Jessica60 · 12/09/2022 21:45

I really like her. Wish she was queen.

MissyB1 · 12/09/2022 21:45

She might outrank her brothers but she has never served in the military. Her rank was given to her by her mother I believe.

CatherineMorland · 12/09/2022 21:46

Another P Anne fan here.
She gets on with it quietly, efficiently with humour and without complaint. The number of engagements she carried out is phenomenal.

I think she would probably have liked the chance

I love the kidnapping story. Saying 'not bloody likely' or similar to the would be kidnapper is just fabulous.

Brilliant 👍

daisychain01 · 12/09/2022 21:48

She once told the press to Naff Off.

It makes her a cool dude.

That's interesting, didn't know that.

Criminal record?

Out of control dog.

Twawmyarse · 12/09/2022 21:48

She was lovely when younger and had some lovely outfits - never realised!

I think you can really see the family resemblance in Charlotte when looking at these pics of Anne, especially the two on the left.

I know someone who met her at the Butler Trust awards, they spoke highly of her. She genuinely wanted to be there.

Shes doing well for her she. Princess Anne walked a mile today in uniform and then attended a vigil. By standing still for about 20 minutes too.

Plus she’s had a full on 4 days so far, by anyones standards.

Sporty2022 · 12/09/2022 21:49

Doing well for her age , not she ! Prediction text !

I know nothing about her but saw this picture online and couldn't believe how beautiful she looked

@Plump82 - agreed!! I’ve always been banging on about how beautiful she looked on her wedding day.

FunsizedandFabulous · 12/09/2022 21:50

"The Crown" which is fictional, I know, alluded to the fact she's very much like her Dad. I can see that. Don't p* about, get to the bloody point! Yeah, she is the Queen we'll never have, more's the pity.

Princess Anne should be Duke of Edinburgh not Edward (obv. Duchess or the female equivalent, maybe Countess).

She is here a lot for the rugby and people have a genuine liking for her.
No offence to Edward, but does he ever come up here?

TBF The title of Princess Royal is pretty special so I think she should use that with pride rather than any title borrowed from the men.

Princess Royal is a title that can only be given to the monarch's oldest daughter but it is not automatic and not all oldest daughters hold it. It is generally bestowed in recognition of good service/duty.

It is held for life and can't be held by two people simultaneously, so Charlotte can't be Princess Royal until Anne dies, even if William becomes King before then.

CPL593H · 12/09/2022 21:50

Said on another thread that by walking in procession with her brothers and now the Vigil she has really changed things, centuries old things, but being Anne she did it without fuss.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/09/2022 21:51

When we had the coverage of the deathof Prince Phillip, there was a lovely story and photo of Prince Phillip and Princess Anne using the radiator grill of an old Landrover as a BBQ grill. !

AllBlocChain · 12/09/2022 21:52

If you need a job doing, ask a horsey girl!

Beseen22 · 12/09/2022 21:52

She's in her 70s and mourning her mother who she was very close to. I thought it must be a lot to be followed by helicopters for 6 hours the other day then all the ceremonies today. It was really lovely when she curtsied to the queen when her coffin was brought in.

SpoonsAndLoons · 12/09/2022 21:52

The York sisters look a lot like Anne.

WhenDovesFly · 12/09/2022 21:53

Shouldn't be too difficult to outrank Edward. He's never served and he quit the Marines 3 months into the 12 month training. Not sure how he has the nerve to wear a uniform tbh as all his ranks and titles are honorary. I think he conducts himself well but the uniform thing irks me.

I also think that Anne is probably relieved she isn't monarch. She can live her country life how she wants. She'd be too restricted with everything that goes with being Queen.

Warmhandscoldheart · 12/09/2022 21:53

I have so much respect for her and
ccompanying her mother on her final journeys shows her love and devotion.
