What a woman, she is 72 years old !! I can’t believe how amazing she has been in the last few days.

I always knew she was the most hardworking royal , but this week she has been outstanding.

She is an Olympian - an outstanding horsewoman, and really does seem to work hard.

Mummyoflittledragon · 12/09/2022 21:23

I’m also a Princess Anne fan. She’s so down to earth, without airs and graces.

MovinOnUp · 12/09/2022 21:24

She's long been my favourite.
The refusal to be kidnapped was a brilliant story.
Also, She has the same breed of dog as me.

I admire the way she refuses to be sidelined in anyway because she's female. When the other women get in the car, Anne is walking, when they're supposed to watch from the sidelines at the vigil, she's standing there with her brothers. Whatever your views on the monarchy I think she is admirable. When you are part of one of the most protocol bound institutions in the world it can't be easy to defy tradition even if you are the Queen's daughter.

SenecaFallsRedux · 12/09/2022 21:28

I love the fact that she wears clothes that she has had for more than 40 years. I think it sends a message of being frugal, but I also suspect that it's her small vanity to let people know: "See, I can still get into something I first wore when I was young." Good for her, I say.

PAFMO · 12/09/2022 21:28

I want to see the cluttered front room.
She's fabulous.

Reigateforever · 12/09/2022 21:29

No airs or graces just a down to earth hard working woman whom I admire.

Watch YouTube Princess Anne talks 1974 kidnap attempt.

bruffin · 12/09/2022 21:30

I used to work for one of her charities. She could always speak very knowledgably without notes. She was also very good with our beneficiaries, it's just journalists she has no time for!

MacaroniBaloney · 12/09/2022 21:30

I love the kidnapping story. Saying 'not bloody likely' or similar to the would be kidnapper is just fabulous.

mimbleandlittlemy · 12/09/2022 21:31

My mum had to do an evening with Anne at an awards event once and when the ladies withdrew for a loo break Anne said to my mother “always go when you can” which became a family motto. I have seen her at the Horse Trials at her house at Gatcombe and she just throws herself in, selling sausages, sort tickets, all sorts of things. She really gets on with it.

PAFMO · 12/09/2022 21:31

I found the front room. Brilliant. I love her even more now.

The bodyguard did take three bullets for her, but obviously she's the hero of the day 😆

CallMeLinda · 12/09/2022 21:32

She comes across as very down to earth and funny (although also comes across as Not Tolerating Fools well!)

I love this interview she had with Parkinson about her kidnap attempt:

So does Charles. Some of his suits and shoes have been carefully patched and repaired.

Look below the pocket..

She’s a real princess.

Disney’s got it all wrong.

oakleaffy · 12/09/2022 21:35

I met Princess Anne at a work event, a very savvy, shrewd person.
Princess Anne is nobody's fool.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 12/09/2022 21:36

Anne fan here too
MiL has met her a few times - she is heavily involved in Gloucestershire WI - and speaks very highly of how down to Earth she is.

OakPine · 12/09/2022 21:36

Princess Anne should be Duke of Edinburgh not Edward (obv. Duchess or the female equivalent, maybe Countess).

She is here a lot for the rugby and people have a genuine liking for her.
No offence to Edward, but does he ever come up here?

Brilliant!
Would bet her Stables are immaculate, though.
Lovely, cozy room.

feellikeanalien · 12/09/2022 21:38

I remember watching her wedding to Mark Phillips. It was the first royal wedding I ever watched. We went to watch it at my granny's neighbour's house as she had a colour telly and we didn't.

I loved her dress.

refused to be kidnapped. Just Not Having It. And that was that!

"Not Bloody Likely" was what she said when the kidnapper told her to go with him!

She's also a former Olympic athlete, European Champion and BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

Absolute bloody legend.

I have a massive girl crush 😍
Her daughter is pretty cool too!

i so love this story about her!! She’s awesome
(and I know story is the wrong word but I can’t think of what else to call it!!)

senua · 12/09/2022 21:42

When I heard that Anne was to walk behind the coffin, I wondered what shoes she would wear. She wore trousers so no problem!

Twawmyarse · 12/09/2022 21:42

Well I can't stand her.

Only joking! She's great - but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't be queen for all the tea in China! She tries to live as normal life as possible whilst still performing her duties.
