What a woman, she is 72 years old !! I can’t believe how amazing she has been in the last few days.

I always knew she was the most hardworking royal , but this week she has been outstanding.

Falling down a rabbit hole of photos of royals when younger now - how much does Prince George resemble young Prince Philip!?

Lady Louise looks the absolute spitting image of the young Queen.

Mywatchis · 12/09/2022 22:08

She's absolutely brilliant! My first girl crush when I was about 8. Just love love her 💕

She does! And they both look like Queen Mary, who was also a formidable woman!

The accession should go to a referendum at the death of the monarch and as a sop to the hereditary principle - all her children go onto the ballot paper assuming they are of age.

Sporty2022 · 12/09/2022 22:09

Princess Anne didn’t give her children royal titles either. Just Zara and Mark Phillips.

Zara married a commoner (rugby player) who’s been done for drink driving previously.

Arsewangry · 12/09/2022 22:10

She's marvellous! I have a lot of respect for her.

comfortablyfrumpy · 12/09/2022 22:11

My favourite too.
No nonsense, down to earth and gets on with it
Serious work ethic, too.

Honeyroar · 12/09/2022 22:12

Didn’t she join the vigil for the Queen mother?

KatherineJaneway · 12/09/2022 22:12

Always had huge respect for Princess Anne

God no! This country often votes for total idiots.

Love this story that the Queen paid off the mortgage of the man who tackled the kidnapper. The way he tells the story, Princess Anne wasn’t going quietly!

No, that was the four male grandchildren. Charles, Edward, Andrew, and Princess Margaret's son.

LizzieSiddal · 12/09/2022 22:13

Dh met her at a small reception at St James a couple of months ago. He wasn’t keen on going as he’s not a royalist but I managed to persuade him!
He was so impressed with her, she spoke to almost every person in the room and gave a well informed speech about the charity, was about to leave when she realised she’d missed a couple of people out so went and chatted to them for another 10 minutes.

Considering she’s just lost her mum, I really hope she gets a few days of privacy before the funeral.

PriamFarrl · 12/09/2022 22:14

I love her so much. Down to earth, no nonsense, horsey woman. She had bugger all choice in her life really. She has made the very best of it.

Mumsnut · 12/09/2022 22:14

There is video footage of her turning up for her second wedding in a Land River and more or less barking at everybody to get in the Kirk and get on with it

JollyPolly99 · 12/09/2022 22:15

Anyone who tells a would be kidnapper to essentially Bugger Off and refuses to do what he says gets a thumbs up from me!

I always feel sorry for her children in that video.

Lovely clip of the Queen attempting to cut into a cake at a WI event. She looks across with a wry look as the knife is wedged in and as Anne and Sophie pick up on this, Anne steps forward and coolly retrieves the knife in typical, ‘There, sorted’ mode. A really interesting mix of characters in the RF, and I love the dynamics of the women.

travellingfamily · 12/09/2022 22:17

yep, I think she is brilliant.

Yes, and never an ounce of self pity

Ahf22 · 12/09/2022 22:22

shes fabulous

Blossomtoes · 12/09/2022 22:22

I met her years ago. She’s fantastic. It was an official opening, she said “So you organised all this?” Me “Yes ma’am”, she replied “I bet the men are taking all the credit. Thank you.”

Love the fact she outranks Andrew and Edward and very enjoyed her on horseback during some
formal thing at the Jubilee. That lady could
clearly outmanoeuvre most of the riders there.

They are honorary aren't they, I mean she didn't actually do military service and whatever else can be said about Andrew he did actually do frontline service in a war. Charles served as well but in peacetime (not that he had any control over that and I'm sure he would have done his duty if war had broken out.) I think Edward decided it wasn't for him and that probably took alot of courage to admit. I can't imagine the DofE was impressed.

Whatever we think about them they are all the Queen's children and I'm sure she loved them all and that they are all grieving.

I did smile when I saw Charles in his kilt and Anne in her trousers, both looked very smart.

ChewtonRoad · 12/09/2022 22:24

She's always presented as someone who is without side and simply herself, and that's quite enough. Good for her for not getting lost in all the background noise of being part of the RF, and fantastic that she took on the engagements and did them well, understanding her position but (perhaps) not always liking it. I do admire her.

She looks quite devastated in some of the photos; no matter a daughter's age it's hard to lose one's mother.

louderthan · 12/09/2022 22:24

I love her. Always have. I love a no-fucks-given horsey woman.
