It was inevitable but in this I feel very sorry for his siblings and daughters.

Well I suppose it will give Charles something to chuckle about when he looks back at this in a year or so (if rumours are to be believed about his relationship with Andrew)

Also the bonus of a clear go ahead to lock Andrew in a cupboard and say "you can't come out, remember that time in Scotland at mummy's funeral!"

vera99 · 12/09/2022 18:06

Good - now time for the fox-hunting-loving King Charles to hand him over to the FBI as he is a person of interest in a child sex trafficking case.

Igotjelly · 12/09/2022 18:06

he may not have been a ‘child’ abuser but it’s clear the ‘women’ he had sexual relations with were trafficked and their ability to consent was slim to non-existent. At the least it was a massive lapse in judgement but at worst he was complicit in illegal sex trafficking.

Epstein on the other hand was convicted and Andrew chose to continue his friendship following that conviction. For me that’s enough to mean he should never be allowed a role in public life.

MacaroniBaloney · 12/09/2022 18:06

Tough shit. He is a 'sick old man'.

And hopefully, being challenged about it each time he shows his (sweat free) face in public will eventually show him the public don't think what he did was ok.

It’s very disrespectful to the Queen to heckle her son. She paid good money to get Guiffrey to go away, and Guiffrey has gladly accepted this money. She managed to do this before her death and people should respect the Queens decision to put and end to the matter. Also he was never a paedo, it’s an insult to the Queen’s memory to suggest she protected a paedo.

I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not…

earsup · 12/09/2022 18:08

Am sure there will be more heckling to come....but where is the vile odious slime paul burrell....??....he is very quiet....must have made lots of money from his floristry business.....i bet he is flogging royal cards and tags for big money...!!

Byebyebigbelly · 12/09/2022 18:09

Embarassed to be Scottish reading this happened and can't believe how many people think this is ok. He is a creep. But shouting abuse at someone who is part of a funeral procession is not ok, if only for the sake of the other people in the procession who will have felt upset by it if nothing else. Totally inappropriate and I hope the heckler faces the consequences.

Novella4 · 12/09/2022 18:09

I'd assume it was but some of the royalists on here would make you wonder

It is sarcasm though isn't it ?

Tell me you've never been to Zarquon Beta 9 without telling me you've never been to Zarquon Beta 9.
Grin Grin

Thanks for being literally the only person who found that funny which made it worth having typed it out Wink

vera99 · 12/09/2022 18:10

You can't pay for a crime to go away. That's not how it works. The FBI has asked that he come forward and he has said he would help. But nothing, nada, silence. He is above the law whilst all the actions including the payoff point to his guilt.

AsterixInEngland · 12/09/2022 18:10

Why did they give him such a important role in it?

He sobbed on talkTv the other day about his "surrogate mother" 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️ you know whilst her actual children grieve.

The man makes my skin crawl. 🤮

Honestly, I find some of these posts really disturbing. No wonder the conviction rates for VAWG are so ridiculously low in this country.

17 may be over the age of consent but a trafficked person, whatever age, cannot consent. You are not considered an adult in this country until 18. Why would anyone minimise what he has been accused of? He's never been convicted because he was protected by the very establishment you have all doffed your caps to this week.

Let's not forget Jimmy Savile was a favourite of the Royals too - but keep on boot-licking 🙄

QuebecBagnet · 12/09/2022 17:39

Yeah I don’t see him as representing the monarchy. He’s allowed to be a son walking behind his mother’s coffin. Not the time and place for shouting at him.

Absolutely this. It's not the time or place.

Rich people buying their way out of jail should be respected? Fuck that.

DorchaAndLouis · 12/09/2022 18:11

I'm surprised Andrew wasn't called worse than "sick old man".
The video's on Twitter, heckler looks about 14 and he was dragged violently backwards by the scruff of his neck.
It was bad behaviour and not in the spirit of the occasion but I fail to see how he committed a criminal offence.

Violetparis · 12/09/2022 18:12

When I heard he was walking through the crowds today I thought someone is bound to shout something at him. Not sure why he or the Royal advisors thought it was a good idea. There is and has been ample opportunity for Prince Andrew to mourn his mother in a more controlled public way. In the cathedral today for example he could have gone straight in. But no the arrogant arse and advisors thought better and the dignity of it all is lost as people start arguing over him.

It was members of the public who dragged him backwards - the police officer helped him up.

I hope not and hope he will see more of that.
He should never have been given that role. And if he had an ounce of decency, he would have refused the role and made himself small.

Obviously they all thought people had forgotten. And they could get away with it ‘because you should not be heckling someone at a funeral’.
Well sod that.

Breach of the peace, most overused police section.

He won't get charged, but he will be booked and released NFA I'd imagine.

Sharrowgirl · 12/09/2022 18:14

whilst all the actions including the payoff point to his guilt

You can’t take the fact that he settled as proof of his guilt. Everyone does but they really shouldn’t as it tells you nothing. You might say why did he settle if he was innocent but you could equally say why did she accept the settlement if he was guilty? So the settlement doesn’t indicate guilt or innocence.
