It was inevitable but in this I feel very sorry for his siblings and daughters.

It will be interesting to see if he’s allowed do another walk. Personally I’m hoping his siblings say ‘it’s not happening’. They should be able to the funeral rights for their mother without having to listen to the likes of what went on today.

Hang on, let's just be clear. There is no planet in the universe where heckling is worse than paedophilia.

Who is a paedophile? Did Andrew have sex with minors?

By the way, I think he is gross, probably guilty of criminal activity and definitely aware of criminal activity amongst his friends.

But I don't really get where the 'paedophile' thing has come from?

FixTheBone · 12/09/2022 17:51

I'm in two minds about this.

I agree somewhat with the time and place sentiment, but, on the other hand, there aren't too many other times or places you get to see him in public these days.

And, the Queen's silence and financial bail out of his legal troubles is one of only two things that have diminished her in my estimation, and I say that as a fairly staunch republican.

Astounding · 12/09/2022 17:52

His family aren't to blame for what he did but they are forced to have him there now, it's possible to feel sympathy for his victims and his relatives.

His behaviour and what he did Is utterly vile but his daughters in particular shouldn’t have to feel guilty by association especially at a time like this. And his siblings shouldn’t have to hear this today either. The heckler is absolutely right, but today isn’t the time.

RichardsGear · 12/09/2022 17:53

I saw him on the news the other day, looking at the flowers, and thought what a manipulative twat. Waving at the crowds and probably thinking the good will and sympathy people are feeling towards his family right now will see him through and no one will dare express any dissent about him. Well I'm fucking glad someone heckled him. He's a disgrace.

ThickCutSteakChips · 12/09/2022 17:53

Paedophilia is a specific term, and what he is accused of is not that.

I agree it was inevitable that he would get heckled, and I guess he never imagined that all his horrible shit would finally catch up with him at his mother's funeral, but what goes around comes around and all that.

limitedperiodonly · 12/09/2022 17:55

He was gambling on people's sense of decorum for the occasion overcoming their distaste for him. This time he lost. Oh well. Never mind.

Comedycook · 12/09/2022 17:56

Well if Andrew or any other senior royals were wondering if the Queen's death had softened the public feeling towards him, this will certainly have given them their answer!

Buttons294749 · 12/09/2022 17:57

Dont like him but feel very sorry for his DDs and DGC

I don't agree. If you stand beside somebody who has procured young, trafficked girls for sex then you deserve all you get too.

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 12/09/2022 17:57

Excellent.

Spudlet · 12/09/2022 17:58

He’s grim and horrible, and I wish he wasn’t there. But he is, and his behaviour is not the fault of his siblings and the rest of his family, who are also there and grieving. So out of respect for them, it’s not the time to be shouting. Even though he richly deserves it. There’s too much collateral damage.

Brideandpredjudice · 12/09/2022 17:58

Disgusting behaviour. Although I believe he is innocent.

wherearebeefandonioncrisps · 12/09/2022 17:58

Prince Andrew is obviously not a popular member of the Royal Family any more but as PPs have said, there's a time and a place.
Today's funeral procession was totally the wrong time and place.
Very well done to Scottish mourners to give him short shrift.

stayathomegardener · 12/09/2022 17:59

Personally I don't think he should be out in a royal capacity inspecting flowers and waving centre stage to crowds.

If he's going to try and slide back in then he runs the risk of being heckled

He is a loathsome person who should be in prison.

Heckling him is utterly pathetic though.

FancyFucker · 12/09/2022 18:01

He shouldnt be there, he should mourn her in private
I mean come on I don't think it's every Mothers dying wish to have their nonce offspring who was bailed out with millions of tax payers money in her highly publicised funeral procession

FancyFucker · 12/09/2022 18:02

Disgusting behaviour. Although I believe he is innocent.

Sorry? What??

Badger1970 · 12/09/2022 18:03

He's a pompous arrogant twit who was clearly loving the media attention at Balmoral gates. But he had every right to walk behind that coffin. And heckling was vulgar - HM deserves respect.

But I do have high hopes that this is the last major public appearance from him after Charles takes control properly.

LadyApplejack · 12/09/2022 18:03

He's an unlikable, pompous slimy perv who, if he wants to avoid a hard time, should avoid this public ceremonial stuff BUT I think heckling in those circumstances was low.

Genuine question is he actually a child abuser? I thought the girls were "of age", and he's making out he didn't know they were there under duress. Not a nice guy, clearly, but is he officially on the hook for anything illegal?

Hadalifeonce · 12/09/2022 18:03

Can I just point out that Prince Andrew has never been charged or convicted of any crime.
There has been a civil case, settled out of court, brought by someone above the age of consent.
My feelings about the man bear no relation to the stated facts of the case.
The man is mourning the death of his mother, he is also having to do this in the public gaze. I expect this would be uncomfortable for any of us.

Spck · 12/09/2022 18:03

It’s trending everywhere - the heckler from today. So he has certainly made his point. So maybe it was the time and the place.

x2boys · 12/09/2022 18:05

Brideandpredjudice · 12/09/2022 17:58

Disgusting behaviour. Although I believe he is innocent.

I'm not sure even his mum believed he was innocent.

Novella4 · 12/09/2022 18:05

It is a public event not a private family funeral

Andrew could have gone directly to the church and avoided this for all everyone

The young man who shouted was brave and right
