It was inevitable but in this I feel very sorry for his siblings and daughters.

You do know the legal age of consent is 16 @lemmein?

You do know a trafficked person cannot consent @Blossomtoes ?

lemmein · 12/09/2022 21:54

There’s never been any suggestion that he’s a “child abuser”. He had sex with a trafficked woman who was over the age of consent. Obviously nobody who’s trafficked can consent. That’s bad enough, there’s no need to over egg it.

Oh, I see you do @Blossomtoes

Not really sure of your point then.

@Ladybyrd

In interviews VG has said she was abused from a young age, I don’t know by who so no, I don’t think she had any role models or people to protect her. However, just because her parents chose not to speak publicly on the matter says just that - nothing.

MacmillanMO · 12/09/2022 22:05

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 12/09/2022 17:25

I think even odious sex offenders should be allowed to grieve their parents in peace.

He’s vile. But heckling him is worse.

Heckling Prince Andrew is worse than shagging a sex-trafficked minor?

Wow.

VG grew up in care and lived on the streets from 14yo. That's the thing, she was a vulnerable, exploited young person, unless you really believe that someone of her background would naturally have been moving in the same circles as PA and Epstein.

Victim blaming at its finest.

Victims of trafficking can't consent to sex at any age.

Your theory that V must be lying because her parents aren't murderers is a new one on me.

You're making things up.

Back to point 1: you don't understand that victims of human trafficking can't consent to sex.

theworldhas · 12/09/2022 22:18

Awesome comment from Rory while under arrest. That kid has got balls of steal. What a hero.

lemmein · 12/09/2022 22:19

And it isn't rape.

The law disagrees (unless you're a royal!)

There are extra protections in law for young people aged 16-18 regarding consent. You might want to read up on it before spouting your victim-blaming nonsense.

What did he say?

Ladybyrd · 12/09/2022 22:22

Victim blaming at its finest.

No, not really. The first time she was a victim. But when you keep going back for more, that's a choice.

And keep going back to Epstein and Andrew years later? For hundreds of thousands, then tens of millions. Yes, she was a victim. Whatever. She was all about stopping that happening to other people. It wasn't all about money.

It wasn't a criminal investigation. You can all read it as you like.

elizaregina · 12/09/2022 22:24

It was so quiet and dignified.
The silence pierced by that one voice and directly to Andrew.
A reminder to any royal and the circus around them of the sheer liability that Andrew remains.
That remark immediately reminded me of the interview/sweating/young girl's he groped and worse.

It was always a risk having him out on show.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more.

theworldhas · 12/09/2022 22:25

@carefullycourageous
What did he say?
He said: ”powerful men shouldn’t be allowed to commit sexual crimes and get away with it”.

3 million views and counting on Twitter.

Written by someone who doesn't understand sex trafficking and the impact it has on a person.

She wasn't "going back for more" it's not a all you can eat buffet at the fucking Toby carvery 🤦🏻‍♀️

It's a bit like being indoctrinated in to a cult, just because you go for the next 800 satanic rituals after the first (or whatever cult you want I dunno the cult of chasing chickens) doesn't mean you aren't at psychological harm, and it doesn't mean you are there by choice.

elizaregina · 12/09/2022 22:28

Didn't it occur to him What this young girl was doing hanging out with them? Didn't he think it was very odd a young girl farmed out for sex?

Would either of his daughters spend their time with an old man and some strange "friend"??

Rather than hanging out with their own friends?? Boyfriend their own age?

And he was doing all this apparently as our ambassador of trade? Making really important connections for us the UK.

OMG you really need to do some reading. At least try and understand a subject as important as trafficking before commenting on it.

Right message but perhaps the wrong time

"Powerful men shouldn’t be allowed to commit sexual crimes and get away with it" says Rory, arrested for shouting at Prince Andrew on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh...

He shouldn't of been arrested and charged

Also I was shocked that Andrew had the balls to walk down crowded streets after the shame he brought to his family

That shows his level of arrogance.

I'm wondered how long it will be till King Charles chucks him out his 30 bedroom mansion Smile

The man is a creep.

No it was the right time, as it found a big audience. It needed to be said and heard and now it has been. Well done Rory.

Ladybyrd · 12/09/2022 22:37

She took a cash settlement in the tens of millions. With no apology, or admission or wrongdoing of any sort.

She isn't 17 now. She is 39. Why would you do that if you were all about justice? And why wasn't it a criminal investigation?

And why is it everyone treating it like it was?

Greywhippet · 12/09/2022 22:38

BigYellowElephant · 12/09/2022 17:30

Heckling is worse than being a sex offender???? Dear God this country

^ this. The heckler was brave. Andrew is utterly disgusting. But people seem to be giving him a free pass. That’s why people like him can always get away with their crimes

Greywhippet · 12/09/2022 22:40

NewYorkLassie · 12/09/2022 20:23

Heckling is not worse than sex offending

You’re right. But it takes a special kind of dickhead to heckle someone next to their Mother’s coffin.

Well let’s not forget that this was the mother who shelled out 12 million to protect her sex offender son

Oh come on, she "took" the settlement? Why on earth would he offer so much if there was no evidence against him? A few quid to make her go away, maybe but £12m?

Hbh17 · 12/09/2022 21:06

He's not a child abuser and he is not a convicted criminal. He is certainly a man of very poor judgement and an embarrassment to his family. However, he is fully entitled to be with his family to mourn his mother. (In fact, even the most hardened criminal is entitled to that).

Why is it that he isn’t a convicted criminal? How come he never went to court?
