Carrie's dress today

Am I the only one who thinks that at every formal occasion she tries to upstage Boris?

Shocking pink today, often in red at important occasions.

Her dress today has an open back, slit to the waist from just below the neckline.

She's going to meet the Queen.

Sorry, but regardless of your politics I just think she has no idea how to dress.

Or maybe she does if she's seeking attention.

I can’t stand the woman but I actually liked her dress today.

Both dd (19) and I said how lovely she looked and how we can’t understand how she can stand to make babies with Boris. 😆

abovedecknotbelow · 06/09/2022 12:02

I also can't stand her, but loved the dress.

He couldnt drag her way from their fast enough, I think she will miss it a lot more than him!

the80sweregreat · 06/09/2022 12:05

I thought she looked nice. She is very attractive
It did look as if she was going clubbing , but she has a lovely figure and hair and what she sees in Boris Johnson is a mystery.
I just hope he treats her a lot better than his other wives and girlfriends.

There’s already a thread about this dress. Who cares. Why are we judging women by what the choose to wear? How thoroughly depressing.

She's young and glamourous and he's shambolic. They look like father and daughter.

Because people are interested in fashion….?

Its not judging a woman by her dress. It’s judging the dress. Well at least that’s what most of us are
doing….!

DueyCheatemAndHow · 06/09/2022 12:10

Going clubbing? Have you ever been to s club?

Regularsizedrudy · 06/09/2022 12:11

who caaaaares. They are going. Get gone!

gingertoast · 06/09/2022 12:13

So Bozzer is pretty mandated to wear a navy/black/grey suit. By rights whatever she wore would 'upstage' him given his extremely limited choice of outfit. I doubt if she was full on lady Macbeth-ing, just wearing a pretty, late summer frock by a little known British designer

I think she looked fine personally. I do despair of these threads

TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination · 06/09/2022 12:13

I'm judging her by what she has chosen to wear, yes. It is completely inappropriate for the occasion. Completely see through.

Fine??

I haven't seen photos, so maybe we're looking at different things, but in the Twitter link, it's totally see through. It's inappropriate in (any) that situation.

don't care what colour, how short, open back etc etc but completely see through is just not appropriate.

gingertoast · 06/09/2022 12:15

Eh??

It's see through in that, too see through for that situation, but in the Twitter link she might as well have been wearing glad wrap!

Gr33ngr33ngr4ss · 06/09/2022 12:17

It's not see-through at all! The wind is blowing it against her leg (I'm assuming you're looking at the Misogynist Mail pap?)

Just a dress not a crime.

It's about the dress and the occasion. If you pop over to Style and Beauty @Crazycatstory I hate to tell you, but you will find women posting pics of themsleves asking if the outfit is suitable for whatever occasion.

It's quite normal behaviour you know to consider what people wear, if it suits them , if it's appropriate for the occasion.

yes, she looks fine, yes, she's 33 (same age as one of my DDs who has a similarly great figure and hair) but I just think it's not right for meeting the Queen.

I doubt HM will give a toss as she has far more important things going on in her life right now, but anyway...I think it looks like a party, or evening outfit, not one for a chilly wet day in Scotland meeting the Queen.

I think she looks great and the dress is gorgeous. Don’t think it’s inappropriate for meeting the Queen.

But you didn't post on S&B. Did you? You posted elsewhere. For the bitching. You need to own that.

Party...work event. She's probably confused, bless.

Veeragall · 06/09/2022 12:31

I thought she looked very nice and it was unfortunate that the cameras made her dress look see through. I'm not a fan of her at all but I thought she looked fine.

I don't think she's meeting the Queen. I know some people think she's the PM behind the scenes but I'm pretty sure it's Johnson who'll be tendering his resignation. I don't think she's invited.

I was watching the live Tv stuff this morning and I didn’t her outfit looking anywhere near that transparent 😳 and in all the photos in the news none of them look like that. It almost looks like that Twitter video has been edited to make it look more see through!

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 06/09/2022 12:39

I think it’s gorgeous and she looks great. Now she just needs to run for the hills.

TooBigForMyBoots · 06/09/2022 12:43

But SHE didn’t post on here asking peoples opinions. YOU did. Judging it/her. It’s a dress that literally covers her from head to toe except for a tiny sliver of back. Can’t see how you can get less “formal” as you put it. It looks like it might be silk, so can be slightly clingy.

A sack of potatoes could upstage Boris Johnson in the presentation stakes, so it would be pointless to try not to.

Are we going to say that this dress Catherine (as a future queen ffs) wore was inappropriate as she’s got most of her chest and all of her back (to the waist as you say) on view? No, because you’d likely not being judgy in the same way, because she’s not Carrie. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like a lot about Carrie, but I’m not going to judge her on her perfectly reasonable clothes choices. And it doesn’t help women in general when this is the sort of thing we focus on. Plus, you didn’t post this in style and beauty did you, you posted it in chat.
