Am I the only one who thinks that at every formal occasion she tries to upstage Boris?

Shocking pink today, often in red at important occasions.

Her dress today has an open back, slit to the waist from just below the neckline.

She's going to meet the Queen.

Sorry, but regardless of your politics I just think she has no idea how to dress.

Or maybe she does if she's seeking attention.

Not a fan of her or her husband. But:

a) the dress is not in the slightest bit see-through.

b) She's covered from neck to mid-calf apart from a sliver of her back.

c) The queen is just another human being, albeit her ancesters won some battles centuries ago.
Nothing terrible will happen if the queen sees some bare skin.

d) Ms Johnson has done some questionable things in her time but for some reason her dress is what seems to get most column inches. In 2022.

There's one shot at the start with the light behind her when you can see the shape of her leg but you can't see get leg so much a the shadow of it. When she's walking and thus making the dress billow inwards by the nature of her moving and the air being still, it's shadow. It's clear ocne she's outside it isn't SEE THROUGH, it's just sheer in the light. It also isn't backless, and I can't see where it's meant to be slashed to the waist

Slashed to the waist- the fabric at the back meets at the waist and at the neck, not in between.

It's a stunning dress. She looks beautiful. On a catwalk I wouldn't blink.

The duchess's dress is an evening dress, not a day dress. Interesting how you shifted the focus to her, though.

The shot I saw the dress was sheer showing the darker knickers and bra. Wouldn't have looked so sheer if she had worn nude coloured underwear.

It's the drape of the dress with light reflecting off the material - it has a drop waist, which makes you think it looks like the top of a pair of knickers where the material stops. The skirt then drapes heavily, and when she walks, it's caught between her legs, with the reflection on the material looking darker than the surrounding area in a V shape.

The moment she stands still and the skirt stops moving, it's really clear the material reflecting light and dark is the issue, not that it's see through.

It's silk chiffon, and transparent, whether that's due to the camera flashes, who knows. I doubt the wearer realised.

It is the light reflection and shadow that makes it look as though you can see her underwear.

Ah slashed to the waist so it shows a slice of BACK the hussy, not slashed to to the waist so it shows her thighs and pants.

Re shadows, yes surprisingly she goes in at the crotch where her upper thighs join 🙄 like most people so that's where the material clings and makes shadows. In a diff material you wouldn't notice it.

Its not particularly hard to 'upstage' Boris, is it.

@SleepingStandingUp I wasn't arguing that she was a hussy, simply pointing out the the dress is in fact slashed to the waist. Neck to waist, at the back.

As I said it's stunning, as is she. It's not worked well for the occasion though or we wouldn't be discussing it.

Ok, I take it back. I've turned the brightness right up on my phone, and there's a moment the light catches on the waist gathers and it's clearer that the dress isn't sheer, it's simply very fine.

So if you can't understand why anyone else is claiming it's sheer/it's not sheer, adjust the brightness and you might see why.

I don't like her but noticed the dress and thought she looked great. Perfectly fine for seeing a grumpy old lady.
