Saturday evening in your home

I love reading these kind of threads, I find it very comforting so thought I'd start one and ask what is going on in your homes on this Saturday evening?

I've been studying all day for my master dissertation defence and final oral exam whilst DH took DS (2years old) out to the shops and took him on the trams and buses (he's a public transport kind of toddler). We then had a nice dinner of sweet chilli chicken boats. We've just put DS down to sleep and DH has gone to get popcorn from the cinema next door to munch over a movie night! It's chilly autumn weather here right now which I love so it'll be comfortable in the living room watching the movie.

It's feeling autumnal where we are too, so I'm attempting to make a chicken and mushroom pie from scratch for tonight. So it will be eating that with some mash and veg, then putting our son to bed before watching Yellowjackets tonight with my husband and a glass or two of wine.

Currently in the garden with blankets and two DS playing. Trying to sap up the last of summer. DH is watching football.
Dinner will be something quickish although still full from a late lunch.
Will lounge on sofa and trawl the Internet for a heated throw and some more thermal clothing...... Suggestions from thread earlier this week for keeping warm and energy bills down! Not very exciting!

Having a drink in the garden with my DH. About to start the ooni pizza oven which can is a bit hit and miss - will it be it can lovely, charcoal or just warm dough 😂

DP and I have just walked the dog. I’m drinking wine and watching Friends. DS is upstairs in room on the Xbox. He’ll appear at any moment demanding food.

Being induced with my second on Friday and I desperately want to nest! Got my baby shower tomorrow. We have ordered a curry, but my little girls isn't feeling too great so hoping a big sleep helps her.

I've had a day of doing nothing, watched a movie this afternoon, my son made us a curry and now I'll settle down and watch Netflix with a glass of wine. All is quiet at the moment and there is an autumnal breeze coming in. Lovely.

Call me boring but this is a perfect Saturday for me, no housework or demands, a very rare treat.

Just had a walk through the local fields. DS1 is away for the night, DS2 working until 11pm so DH is on pick up.
Watching the footi now after a shower, having a beer and MN.

We are drinking wine and relaxing whilst dinner cooks (fishcakes). DH has Covid so we are just going to watch TV and chill.

DH is putting DD1 to bed and I'm on sofa with snoozing DD2 who is 10 weeks old. Once DD1 is asleep, DH will be going out to get us a Chinese takeaway and I plan to spend the rest of evening reading a Ruth Galloway novel on my Kindle and no doubt feeding DD2 lots!

We have just finished dinner ( Jamie Oliver's white fish tagine followed by banana splits). DH is doing the washing up and listening to a rock podcast, and the boys are upstairs probably on their devices. They have been cycling today so did get some exercise in! I have been sorting out school clothes and am about to pour a glass of wine and chat to some friends on Zoom for an hour, then read to DS2, then watch an episode of House probably!

My house is lovely and tidy after Saturday morning cleaning. My parents came over for a cup of tea after lunch and then I managed to drag my teens out to go blackberry picking. They did not want to go and moaned but I enjoyed myself!

My dd is at work, my ds cooked us our dinner (gousto recipe of chicken, giant couscous and feta) and I'm chilling on the sofa watching the sandman.

Just eaten steak fries and salad with DH. Having a glass of red wine and watching a film. Tired from gardening and cleaning today.

I've been browsing on Mumsnet for the last hour or two. I'm getting up off the sofa off in a minute to clean my fridge and unload the dishwasher. When I'm finished that, I'll make a sandwich and watch a bit of TV.

Teen DD is working and I'll pick her up later. Then she's off to the pub with her friends so I get to stay sober and collect her at the end of the night.

We've just had cottage pie for dinner and now dh and Dd are setting up a board game for us all to play. After that Dd will be off to bed and I think dh and I will have a glass of wine and watch a film. We've been doing some end of summer decluttering and cleaning today so feel quite virtuous!

Sitting down with a glass of wine and a plate of cheese ready to watch The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. On my own (well with ddog) as DH and DC are out. Happy happy happy.

I've spent the day with my lovely nephew going round the shops and having something to eat and drink.

Now home and making lasagne for me and DP which we will eat in the garden with a glass of wine or two.

Spent all of a rare day without kids underfoot sorting out old toys and clothes while three or four kids have been out! Managed to sort what can be given down to younger siblings/cousins and a few boxes of baby stuff for charity! So I’m feeling accomplished. DDs stopping at mils so just me and two DSs tonight - had pizza for tea and starting to wind down now. Been such a nice quiet afternoon, hopefully a quiet evening ahead!

I've spent today planning Maths lessons for the new term. Went for a short run/walk with DH (trying to attempt C25K) but I'm struggling on week two!

Just finished off a packet of lemon shortbread and need a film to watch once the boys are in bed.....any Netflix recommendations????

Sat night is family video night. Have slightly nicer food than normal and watch a kids dvd. Luckily I love kids films! So we’re all happy!

We went out for brunch with the in-laws today, came home and DH went for a nap as he wasn’t feeling well.

Next doors kids (both sides!) came over to play with my 1yo DD for a while.

I made a carrot and coriander soup but DH came down from his nap once all the kids had gone miraculously “feeling much better” and suggested the chippy so I’m on the sofa waiting for my chicken burger! We’ll have the soup tomorrow 😂

DP and I were out at friends for a few hours from late morning. When we got back we sat in the garden attempting the i general knowledge crossword. Then I started making supper; DP's DS and his partner will be here soon. It's been a beautiful day in London; sky still blue but it's chillier and there's a breeze.

Warm and sunny most of the day so we had a nice walk and time in the garden. Dd6 and I are rewatching the first Harry Potter while Dd1 is finishing a banana for supper, having rejected his entire dinner an hour ago 🙃 30 minutes til bedtime, I'll put the children to bed while DH collects a take away. Feeling emotional as time of month is imminent so might watch something soppy! DH will listen to football podcast if that's the case! X

I was out with work all day, have been catching up on messages and a tennis podcast for the last two hours, after a very late 5pm lunch, which we might as well call dinner. It’s 8pm and I really think I’ll be going to sleep soon. Just made a cup of tea, have all the windows open - first time in weeks temp has dropped below 25 - and will watch a Friends episode or two before lights out. I’m in my 20s and single… 😅

We all did a treasure trail together earlier and had lunch out. Now home, waiting for Tesco delivery and having a drink in the garden! Kids have vanished to their rooms.

Making the most of the last of the summer...

We had a late lunch out with DD and no one fancies a meal again so DH and I have poured a glass of wine and are currently trying to decide what to order DD for her birthday.

DS and DD1 are both working then going out afterwards. DD2 is upstairs watching Paddington and eating her own weight in popcorn.
