Yes. Good decision. I thought she might win. What a fiasco and waste of money

Hooray! Let's hope CR gets £1 in damages

Viviennemary · 29/07/2022 12:09

I dont think either of them were going to get damages. Bit mad it even got to court.

Oh I thought maybe she would be claiming

user34632 · 29/07/2022 12:17

Good correct decision. A lot of people have been calling both of them for carrying this on. I think that's it's unfair on Colleen who actually had no choice as she was being sued.

Sparklingbrook · 29/07/2022 12:18

Is that a suprise?

nancy75 · 29/07/2022 12:19

Bloke on BBC news saying he expects her to appeal! Surely not, she’d have to be mad

I was surprised. I think a lot of opinion was that Vardy would win but get minimal damages and Rooney would win in the court of public opinion only

Abirdnest · 29/07/2022 12:21

Neither have come off particularly well, IMHO.

I always assumed Rooney would win.

unicormb · 29/07/2022 12:22

I cannot stop laughing. Honestly, these idiots having their bun fight while the rest of the country struggles to feed their kids. Fuck them both.

Exactly this. I'm glad Rooney won, but wasn't at all sure she would. But I did think Vardy would get roughly a quid in damages to show what the judge thinks of her 'good name'.

Times one thousand.

Stupid schoolgirl antics from bored idiots with nothing better to do.

Butterfly3105 · 29/07/2022 12:30

That’s exactly what I thought would happen, I’m so pleased Colleen won, Vardy is a nasty little woman look at the WhatsApp messages between her and her friends and agent talking about Colleen. Hope she loses her appeal too.

Sparklingbrook · 29/07/2022 12:32

I agree it's all very immature-those texts. Hmm

Gymnopedie · 29/07/2022 12:34

I hoped that RV would lose, but I had my doubts when the earlier court ruled that in saying 'it was Rebekah Vardy's account', it should be interpreted as CR meant that it was Vardy herself.

midsomermurderess · 29/07/2022 12:34

I suspect the whole’, I never read the Mail’ line is going to come under some strain here.😉

BoopTheFoof · 29/07/2022 12:36

You can read the summing up on Judiciary Gov website

chocolateoranges33 · 29/07/2022 12:37

Im pleased Colleen won, as from what was reported it was clear she was correct in her insta post.

However, Im unsure why lots of people are piling on saying that they should have settled outside of court so not to spend all the money on solicitor fees etc. Dont disagree, but what exactly was Colleen supposed to do?

She was being sued for saying something she was convinced was true (as has now been proven) and 'settling' with Vardy outside of court would surely have involved an apology or something which to be honest if I was her I wouldn't have done either.

Just want to know how others think she should have settled before court when she believed she was right?

whynotwhatknot · 29/07/2022 12:41

people blaming colleen what was she meant to do accept being called a liar and cave in

vardy brought this case so she dended herself glad t went her way

Grrrpredictivetex · 29/07/2022 12:42

From what I remember Rooney tried to sort this out of court but Vardy wasn't having it. Served her right silly cow.

Did those people follow any of the evidence?

Vardy's case was an absolute joke. Her legal team are also a joke - how on earth professional barristers and solicitors were convinced to run with this case, I've no idea. They've just shot their professional credibility to hell.

Abirdnest · 29/07/2022 12:44

@whynotwhatknot or just removed Vardy as a follower when she got an inkling she wasn’t trustworthy?

I mean, I agree Vardy doesn’t seem the pleasantest but Rooney knew what would happen in terms of abuse and threats to not only RV but her husband and kids too. There was no need for the huge drama. Embarrassing.

bollygu · 29/07/2022 12:45

Are people unaware that Colleen was sued & tried to settle outside of court?

bollygu · 29/07/2022 12:47

Don't lie & sell stories & sue people then. Not rocket science!

Idontgiveashitanymore · 29/07/2022 12:47

I dislike them both but I’m glad Vardy got found out about all her lies .
im really sick of hearing about it now but the press will milk it for months 😩
