Celebrities using the bus!

So I live very close to a local celebrity. I have spotted this person standing at the bus stop and then boarding the bus on several occasions, most recently today. So this has got me wondering, how many other people have seen celebs board a bus? I know the tube is quite common for famous people to use, but just wondering if bus use is fairly common? Admittedly we do have a very good bus service where I live.

In London I doubt it's uncommon. Elsewhere probably less so.

When I lived in London I would often see celebrities on the bus. Catherine Ryan once helped me with my pram.

What kind of category of celeb are we talking? Like Tom Holland or the 6th woman booted off Love Island series 5?

I sat next to Elijah Wood on the 29 bus in north London once years ago. Other than him, I think it was a couple of the Hothouse Flowers on the bus between Galway and Ennis about a million years ago.

Esme the Sewing Bee lady sat next to me on a bus about 4 years ago

He is still quite famous has been since the 80's, and he is currently doing a UK tour and has played at some music festivals this summer. However he seems to pop home whenever he gets a few days off.

I suppose there is always that thing were celebrities are not really hassled much in their hometown but would be elsewhere.

We were on a bus once with Peter Bowles. He was lovely and chatty

I almost stopped to give a celeb a lift once when I saw them at the bus stop. I usually stop and do this if I see someone I know but then I realised at the last minute as I was slamming the brakes on the car that I didn’t personally know the person. It was Susan Boyle a regular at the bus stop near her home.

In the 1990s I used to see Sharleen Spiteri in my neighbourhood in Glasgow, including once waiting for a bus.

I don't get why you wouldn't just say who it is.

I am a huge Esme fan. She is both hilarious and demanding which seems an excellent combination. Was she nice? She seems like a hoot! (Also: what was she wearing?)

I'd be more surprised to see a bus where I live rather than a celebrity!

Often saw Colin Dexter on the bus in Oxford, usually with a Co-Op carrier bag, he seemed lovely, people were so used to seeing him that everyone left him alone

Cillian Murphy on a bus in Cork when he was just Irish famous and Aiden Gillen getting on the Aircoach outside Dublin Airport when he was in Game of Thrones. He was heading for Belfast.

I’ve seen Vivian Westwood and Joanna Lumley on the same route bus but different journeys

I remember seeing Mel C on the tube and everyone ignoring her. Then I saw Amber Rudd on the tube and people were getting so excited! Poor Mel C.

Brian Johnson out of AC/DC travels on buses when he's home in Newcastle. They're full of OAPs and school kids so no one recognises him.

Jenny Eclair uses the 176 in London a fair bit. I've seen Hugh Grant on the District line in the Hammersmith area.

Joanna Lumley used to get the Victoria line from Stockwell because she lived there. Dunno if she still does.

I'm pretty sure that I've seen Yasmin Le Bon on the Bakerloo line a couple of times. She looked bloody amazing!
