Celebrities using the bus!

So I live very close to a local celebrity. I have spotted this person standing at the bus stop and then boarding the bus on several occasions, most recently today. So this has got me wondering, how many other people have seen celebs board a bus? I know the tube is quite common for famous people to use, but just wondering if bus use is fairly common? Admittedly we do have a very good bus service where I live.

Never seen anyone on a bus but then I feel like a bus you don't really get a good look at anyone. If I was a celebrity wanting to avoid the limelight then I'd sit at the back of the top deck and I'm sure noone would notice me. I saw the cast of skins on the tube once if anyone remembers that show!

Years ago, I sat at the same bus stop in Knightsbridge with Cate Blanchett. It was a summer afternoon and she wasn't 'in disguise' just sat on the plastic bench, reading.

If it is him I met him at Southampton initially last year plus more, he's completely normal and well known within and around the south communities. I worked as his PA for a specific festival amount.

My dsis saw Kit Harrington on the tube at the height of GoT fame. He was doing the “don’t look at me/why aren’t you looking at me?” Thing. A bit put out as no one WAS looking at him. Not very tall.

@Kitkatcatflap I saw Cate Blanchett sitting at a bus stop on Upper Street in Islington. She was reading then too.

Once sat opposite Terence Stamp on the tube.

I caught the bus with Christopher Timothy once, I'd just seen a play in the smaller studio and he'd been on in the main house.

Often used to see the late John Sessions on the bus in Wimbledon.

Oh and I walked past Julian Lloyd Webber in London he was waiting for a bus
Esme was on a bus in Whitstable going towards Herne Bay

I’m an Esme fan as well, I’d like to sit next to her on a bus. She probably used her bus pass.

I enjoy how tiny she is given Patrick is so tall. Also that she would be in the Herne Bay environs - reinforces her excellent taste (as does an all-black ensemble which I am also fond of). All hail Esme!

The actress Carolyn Pickles was very kind to me on the tube once when I thought I was going the wrong way.She reassured me I wasn't!

Why wouldn’t you name them? It’s hardly going to ruin them, being known as a bus user!

OP isn’t going to name them because she knows that at the moment we can all be picturing her sitting next to George Clooney on the Number 67 to Woking whereas in fact she’s offering Wee Jimmie Krankie one of her Werthers.

I saw Amanda Barrie at my rural train station once. I was at the ticket office and as I turned to leave I heard her say “ hello Darling” to the ticket officer. I didn’t look, but thought I recognised the voice. Then she was on the platform. My DM and I were trying to remember her name, probably not very discreetly, she turned and smiled at us. She seemed really normal and down to earth. She had massive funky necklaces and bracelets on. You couldn’t miss her.

So random. Of course celebrities get the bus, they have to travel like everyone else.

It the bus more surprising than the tube, or a train? (Have seen celebrities on tube, bus and plane, never a train)

Alan Bennett on the 29, getting off in Camden High Street. He usually rode his bike around Camden but it was a wet day. Back in the 90s got on a bus in the West End and across the aisle was Dustin Hoffman who clocked me clocking him and gave me a little wave. I then spent the next 10 minutes wondering whether it was rude to ignore him or even ruder to do the 'Hello, Mr Hoffman, I love your work' number. I had a friend who swore she'd seen David Bowie on a bus in central London a couple of years before his death but no one believed her. After his death I read about how although everyone assumed he lived in New York full-time and didn't fly, he'd had a flat in Soho. I also saw an article where he talked about going sightseeing in London with Iman and their daughter and no one taking any notice of them. So perhaps it was him on a bus.

Ok ok I now know that bus usage in celeb land is not that uncommon.lol.
