Sunak’s newest slogan is 'keep brexit safe'

Oh ffs!

Blossomtoes · 19/07/2022 13:38

Quite.

DuncinToffee · 19/07/2022 13:51

Ouch Grin

They’re wallowing in their own mess.

Btw I was reading Reddit last night (😱) and a fair few posters take on Britain First ordering support for Badenoch was that it was them trying to prove they're not racist. My response to that is hmmmm.

DuncinToffee · 19/07/2022 13:59

#TheWeekInTory is here again, dammit

  1. We flushed and flushed and flushed, but Boris Johnson keeps bobbing back up
  1. This week the horny honey-monster managed to call a no-confidence vote in himself, then forgot he’d done it

Was just looking at Tobias Ellwood's Bournemouth East seat. I had a recollection that Bournemouth and Poole used to have a fairly active local Lib Dem presence and I bet Ed Davey has been on the phone. They were third to the Tories and Labour in recent elections but prior to 2015 they polled well and were consistently 2nd.

This is one of the seats where Labour and the Lib Dems maybe need to have an understanding, pairing it with somewhere else.

I have seen it being called a woke lefty plot...

That’s what they’re calling it on the feminism threads. When they’re not pulling the race card on anyone who thinks she’d be a terrible PM.

DuncinToffee · 19/07/2022 14:19

It is the standard reply now, not much of an insult if you think of the alternative.

I'm a FWR regular and I'm quite happy to say I think that KB would be a terrible PM, now I know a lot about her views.

Still struggling to decide my personal 'least worst' candidate. They're all grotesque in their own ways, like gargoyles perched up above us looking down upon our artisanal travails while they pull faces.

Cedilla · 19/07/2022 14:28

Yes, exactly so, Spindle. They’re all utterly grotesque, but some are infinitesimally less grotesque than others.

What a choice. The longer this goes on, the crazier it becomes. They are not rational and Johnson has now completely parted company with reason.

They want a three way ballot with Johnson as the third!

DowningStreetParty · 19/07/2022 14:50

WTF?! That’s terrifying. We’ve all been saying that Johnson can’t even be trusted to resign. he’ll be absolutely loving this.

Blossomtoes · 19/07/2022 14:53

Ffs. Time for a GE.

Notonthestairs · 19/07/2022 14:53

It's 1% of the membership so not significant. Petition started 5pm last night.
I don't think they have a chance to be honest (wishful thinking?).

DuncinToffee · 19/07/2022 15:03

Badenoch 59
Mordaunt 92
Sunak 118
Truss 86

Badenoch out

Blossomtoes · 19/07/2022 15:04

There is a God.

Notonthestairs · 19/07/2022 15:04

It will be fascinating to see where those 59 votes go.

the80sweregreat · 19/07/2022 15:04

Kemi may be out , but it's not the last we shall see of her I bet.

Badenoch’s vote will not be going to Mordaunt, I’m assuming. Could be a split between Truss and Sunak? Or will it be ‘rigged’, so to speak?

DuncinToffee · 19/07/2022 15:08

Tugendhat's votes went to Truss (+15) and Mordaunt (+10)

Lonelycrab · 19/07/2022 15:09

Id have thought mainly to Truss?

But glad Kemi has gone too.

Split between Sunak and Truss I'd guess. With at least enough extras going to Truss to kick PM out. The gap between them is only 6 votes now...

Notonthestairs · 19/07/2022 15:19

I'd imagine Truss will be the greater beneficiary but I briefly wondered if some factions might deliberately move to get Sunak out altogether and set up Truss v Mordaunt.

However Truss needs 34 to get to 120.
Mordaunt needs 28 to get to 120.

59 votes available. So you'd need to get 3 from Sunak which seems unlikely (although not impossible if jobs are promised).

DuncinToffee · 19/07/2022 15:19

Truss and Sunak sharing the votes, Truss seems more popular with tory members
