Doris just entered no 10...

Nads for chancellor! Can’t imagine anyone more suited to it Grin

Notonthestairs · 05/07/2022 20:03

Absolutely Duncin. Rats leaving a sinking ship, not taking a stand against blatant lying and law & Ministerial Code breaking.

I mean it's fun watching them jump but I'm not going to applaud them scrabbling around to save their careers.

DuncinToffee · 05/07/2022 20:03

Starmer responds to Sunak/Javid resignations: “If they’d a shred of integrity they would have gone months ago. The British public won’t be fooled. The Tory party is corrupted and changing one man won’t fix it. Only a real change of govt can give Britain the fresh start it needs.”

Cedilla · 05/07/2022 20:05

Saqib Bhatti, another PPS, bites the dust……

Roussette · 05/07/2022 20:05

Gullis is an awful man. Resigned as PPS, yes, and his days are numbered as an MP

Their voting records are a good reminder of that.

Know the feeling @itsgettingweird! Be careful you don't laugh too much tonight! Owwww!

Saucery · 05/07/2022 20:07

The lower ranks were always going to wait until the more high profile cabinet members said enough was enough. This little flurry of PPS, trade envoys etc….their resignations would have had no impact, however stinging their letters were.
They are undoubtedly motivated mainly by self interest, but that’s politicians for you.

ladymalfoy45 · 05/07/2022 20:08

@tobee YES! YOU DO THINK THAT

tobee · 05/07/2022 20:09

I don't think JRM would want to be PM. It's all beneath him, don't you know? 🧐

Notonthestairs · 05/07/2022 20:09

JRM suggesting Johnson might win another VONC. I mean, honestly, the man is delusional.

Moves to appoint a new Chancellor this evening - who would be mad enough to accept it?

The stock exchange won't like a vacancy at no 11 for long

It will have to be Gove won't it?

@jessicaelgot
Honestly Jonathan Guillis resigning is arguable more damning than Sunak

Roussette · 05/07/2022 20:16

^Rees-Mogg is on @Channel4News talking about Harold Macmillan and Lord Salisbury as if he’s just woken up stoned off his tits on snuff in the middle of a grouse moor, having lost his way to the funeral of a Victorian work house owner*

That's a genuinely perfect description.

Roussette · 05/07/2022 20:28

I have to laugh... Steve Bray, the activist who was surrounded by 20 police last week after the Crime Bill went through... is having one of the best days of his life! He's catching them all coming out of parliament. He's just caught the awful Lord Moylan who in his haste to get away walked into a sign on a lampost Grin

DuncinToffee · 05/07/2022 20:34

Catherine Philp

If you're wondering how this all collapsed so fast, Simon McDonald is key. He NEVER does stuff like the letter he wrote about Pinchergate this morning. It was jaw dropping that he did. On the record, verifiable accusation of PM lying. SM tired of anonymous briefings.

Ok back from my exercise class, what did I miss?!

Rumour seems to be Barclay to Health and Truss to Treasury.

I also see that absolute tool Jonathan Gullis has resigned..,

tobee · 05/07/2022 20:37

I just saw Clav on "another thread" so she's still raking in the shekels

Roussette · 05/07/2022 20:39

Surely not Truss to Treasury? She never comes across as very bright. And she loves poncing about in dress up going to different countries as Foreign Sec. Can't see it myself.

DuncinToffee · 05/07/2022 20:39

Another PPS resigns

NEW: Grant Shapps’ PPS goes- “I cannot bring myself to serve as a PPS under the current circumstances, where the focus is skewed by poor judgment that I don’t wish to be associated with…the Conservative Party…is currently unrecognisable to me. I believe something must change.”

tobee · 05/07/2022 20:40

"She never comes across as very bright."

Don't think brightness is thought of as an issue in No 10
