NEW: Tory vice chair Bim Amolfi MP resigned live on air

Notonthestairs · 05/07/2022 19:34

I think the 1922 will move Johnson out if he won't shift.

ApplesandBunions · 05/07/2022 19:34

It's interesting that this appears to be the straw that'll break the camel's back. They were satisfied to continue serving during the last few months of ordure, but this particular incident is Johnson not giving a fuck about his own colleagues welfare, and that's the line in the sand. Because being a Whip is a position of some power and influence, and putting a known sexual predator in that seat genuinely opens up the possibility of mistreatment.

Gone
Javid
Sunak

Staying
Raab
Truss
Wallace
Trevelyan
Kwarteng
Lewis
Jack
Hart
Patel: Lol she'd never work as a minister again.
Mogg: Lol
Dorries: Lol

Suspiciously quiet
Barclay
Gove
Sharma
Coffey
Zahawi: Rumour is he and his team have gone MIA
Eustace
Schapps

You've left Braverman off the suspiciously quiet list.

Although her voice is always muffled as it's hard to talk with your head as far up Johnson's area as hers is Grin

DuncinToffee · 05/07/2022 19:36

Looks like Nadine Dorries has joined MN
for a thread in AIBU

Roussette · 05/07/2022 19:36

Rees Mogg on C4 is ridiculous. 'Constitutionally he can carry on'.

isnt he due to do PMQ’s tomorrow? I don’t want him to go to soon if it means I miss out on that amazing beasting.

I had a hysterectomy last week. Not enjoying being stuck at home knackered uncomfortable and recovering.

But the upside is I get to watch this unravel in real time and get to watch PMqs live tomorrow Grin

Hope you feel better soon!
Watching in real time is an upside for sure!

DowningStreetParty · 05/07/2022 19:47

Dear God, please let this not be a further opportunity to promote all the useless yes-people

Notonthestairs · 05/07/2022 19:48

I never want to hear from JRM again. I've not forgotten or forgiven what he said after Grenfell.

DuncinToffee · 05/07/2022 19:49

Sky reporting that Threrese Coffey is staying

cakeorwine · 05/07/2022 19:49

Conservative vice-chair resigns live on TV
Bin Afolami MP has announced his resignation on TalkTV.
He said: “I don’t think the prime minister no longer has not just my support, but the party and the country.
“And for that reason I think he should step down.”
On his own position, he said: “You have to resign, I can’t serve under the prime minister.”

DuncinToffee · 05/07/2022 19:50

Speedy recovery itsgettingweird!

Cornettoninja · 05/07/2022 19:52

cakeorwine · 05/07/2022 19:19

Just watched Rees-Mogg on Channel 4

Talking about Lord Salisbury who was PM in the 19th Century

Who else was he banging on about? McMillan who apparently carried on for ages after losing loads of ministers.

he looked distinctly ill at the end of that sky interview. His face ran the gauntlet out emotions when they ended the interview.

The live resignation!

JanglyBeads · 05/07/2022 19:53

Not BJ yet, but the deputy chairman!

Notonthestairs · 05/07/2022 19:55

I rather despise the flurry of resignations. They've known for years exactly how corrupted the party was.

DuncinToffee · 05/07/2022 19:59

Adam Payne

Now two PPSs resign: Jonathan Gullis and Saqib Bhatti

Roussette · 05/07/2022 19:59

Oh my goodness

A resignation of a Parliamentary Private Secretary

twitter.com/bhatti_saqib/status/1544393507036602368

Resig letter in tweet

Saqib Bhatti MP for Meriden

Cedilla · 05/07/2022 19:59

It’s too much even for the odious Jonathan Gillis. He’s resigned as PPS to the Sec of State for Northern Ireland.

cakeorwine · 05/07/2022 20:00

And another one

Jonathan Gullis, who is understood to have been a Johnson loyalist, has resigned his role as Parliamentary private secretary to the Northern Ireland secretary.

Cedilla · 05/07/2022 20:00

Gullis, not Gillis.

DuncinToffee · 05/07/2022 20:00

They should have found their backbone in the VONC

Cedilla · 05/07/2022 20:01

I was apologising for my autocorrect there, cakeorwine, nothing to do with your post!
