Is Johnson back in the UK now? He is keeping a very low profile.

Notonthestairs · 05/07/2022 09:06

Yes Johnson was in the Commons yesterday. But definitely lying low Grin

vera99 · 05/07/2022 09:23

All the @clavinova and her types have left are Corbyn, whataboutery, and cherry-picked irrelevant PR puffery about some business deal from some company handout unconnected with anything this government did or didn't do. My worry is the whole democratic process is being tarnished and debased and we are on a one-way trip to somewhere a lot darker.

@campbellclaret
Another minister lying on behalf of a lying Prime Minister right now … another soul dying … Johnson debases everything he touches …

Go Sussana

Susanna Reid: How does someone who is found guilty by an internal investigation.. get to be deputy chief whip?

Dominic Raab: You say found guilty

SR: An investigation upheld the complaint

DR: Using the word guilty is wrong

SR: So what does an upheld investigation mean?

Raab, the sea was closed, busy crossing his fingers there.

Yes, he was in HoC with his book report from his recent day trips.

Another 'surprise' visit to Kyiv soon?

DuncinToffee · 05/07/2022 09:41

How depressingly true

“This is surely it for Boris Johnson” - ancient English proverb

tobee · 05/07/2022 09:46

What I find amazing about the Pincher debacle is that it's just happened. It's not a series of old stories that we're hearing about; Dominic Cummings, or similar, drip dripping tasty morsels from the past like Johnson trying to get Carrie a job when he was foreign sec, or Wilf's tree house plans from 2020, but the last couple of days. Pincher again underlines that they're not listening and they haven't learned.

Surely backbenchers are thinking this? New potentially scandalous behaviour will keep happening.

DuncinToffee · 05/07/2022 09:50

Could be worth keeping an eye out for today

Paul Waugh
^Well, I for one can't wait for the today's clip of the PM jauntily telling his Cabinet how well he's doing.
[a recent PR innovation is he allows cameras in every week to record and broadcast his opening remarks to Cabinet]^

Pretty sure enormous pressure is being put on Durham police today...

Lord McDonald interview is a must-listen.

Absolutely. (I'd expect a few Knighthoods on offer.)

I just came on to say I watched on +1 and she was brilliant.

RAAB: guilty is a loaded word

REID - so is inappropriate behaviour!

She's really shown herself to be a strong presenter over this and I think they hate it even more that's she's a woman wiping the floor with them.

She is the total opposite of the adoring Dorris, truss, Patel and Braverman

The DM has gone from predicting a ‘matter of hours’ to talking about ‘a matter of days’ pushing the line that KS will know a couple of hours before any announcement like that’s an outrageous notion.

itsgettingweird · 05/07/2022 10:07

I also noted Brands comment at the end about something big will happen today - maybe not the big thing - but something big.

He said he has lots of ministers contacting him.

I think many know their jobs now rely on being publicly against Johnson - rather than a loyal, supporter.

Fabricant is trying to save the day:

JOB’s first caller today claiming to be a senior civil servant directly appealing to Simon Case (? I think that’s who he named) regarding the danger this cabinet presents.

Also convincingly claiming that he’s currently sitting in the no. 10 press office Confused

Time for the army to stage a coup and remove the bastard from No 10 - impose martial law and a timetable for new elections under PR.

The army aren’t interested. I had a scout around some forces forums and they seemed overwhelmingly in support of Tories if not BJ directly.

vera99 · 05/07/2022 10:40

Yes heard that JoB call sounded convincing. He will be escorted from his desk in short order now and shown the door.

Cornettoninja · 05/07/2022 10:43

Not gonna lie, that caller put the willies up me. He didn’t say anything we didn’t know but the stand he took stunned me.

He was quite clear that we are currently operating as a failed state. Made me think back to that Iraqi (I think) general filmed denying any forces entering the country American tanks were stationed in the background. That’s who we are.

vera99 · 05/07/2022 10:43

Of course, army types love a fight and BoJo will be their man to get one. I don't blame Zelinsky for welcoming him with open arms each time armed with his chequebook - it's the only place he feels loved and has had a street named after him.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 05/07/2022 10:44

A timely reminder of the 2017 list that at the time the Tories said was made up nonsense

a whole bunch of the incidents and names listed have turned out to be true
