Current thread has 1000 posts so restarting.. Was asked at the end of the last thread what I would identify as & I am solidly working class due to working hard to pay our mortgage, kids in state school & having a very modest lifestyle.

Apparently breastfeeding is middle class

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/nov/24/class-baby-breastfed-life-chances-inequality

I’d never thought about it before, but I have a 3 month old baby who I have failed to breastfeed, despite having every intention and am only able to express, so it’s about 25% of her nutrition.

All of the more middle class mums in my mother & baby group EBF so night it occurred to me that breastfeeding does seem to be more of a MC thing. My WC friends all went straight to formula while my MC ones all EBF. I’d never really thought about BF in terms of class before, but I do think it is an indicator.

And now I wish I tried harder to EBF 😣

@FreyaStorm I'd agree with that. Many of the young WC mums at the DC's primary school seemed really prudish about breastfeeding.
