What would you expect a "bottomless brunch" to be?

Girly weekend away, bottomless brunch suggested, at around £20 per head. All agreed. Ended up being £12 more.

What would you expect from it?

Choice of one meal and unlimited prosseco. If it was unlimited cocktails, then yes I would expect it to be a smallish meal and expensive (as cocktails are). If you weren’t drinking cocktails but everyone else was and you split the bill evenly, I would be disappointed too.

A main meal and unlimited drinks for 3/4 hours.,

What your local place is peddling is what I would know as an "unlimited breakfast".

Never been to a bottomless brunch because I'd die of aclohol poisioning but I know it involves prosecco refills.

I'd expect 1 plate of food and bottomless drinks. £30 seems quite cheap if they are alcoholic but iv only ever heard of bottomless prosecco. I don't no where you are so perhaps cheaper if you are not in a city?

Have just read on, sorry should have done that first!! Agree with PP, you were looking for unlimited breakfast or all you can eat. Bottomless applies to your glass/drinks.

I went to one a few weeks ago and had a starter, a huge burger and fries main (couldn’t finish it!) and unlimited drinks.
I think we got through 3 bottles of Prosecco between 2! Was quite tipsy and very full food wise. It was £30 which seemed good value.
A buffet breakfast to me would be unlimited food

Either endless food, or where nobody wears pants.

Bottomless brunch menus do vary our local one seems to be good value and very filling

I would have thought it was endless food, but I guess for the price bottomless drinks makes more sense as long as they are good and not watered down.

I feel you, because I couldn't take advantage of the unlimited booze either, but it's normal for the booze to be unlimited rather than the food. As with most large group activities, you're disadvantaged if you're not a heavy drinker!

I wish theyd stop these things. It's got to the point where I've stopped going to a local bar which I used to go to regularly because i cant be doing with the drunken antics. Had a few bad experiences sadly which have left me feeling pretty unsafe.

To me it's similar to an 'all you can eat' with unlimited drink refils.

Yup deffo like bottomless Prosecco and then a brunchy item. Usually a surcharge for cocktails on top.

Oh and you can’t stack your drinks so it’s time limited and then what you can drink in that 2 hours

I am currently still recovering from yesterday's bottomless brunch. I was expecting a few glasses of fizz, and endless foodbut I am just a piglet, however it was 1 breakfast item or house burger and limitless prosecco/ bellinis / mimosa/ lager. We were allowed 2 hours and could order bottles of prosecco. Between the 5 of us we got through 6 bottles of prosecco (actually 4 of us, because 1 was drinking lager) plus numerous mimosa. There was definitely not sufficient food to absorb all the booze, so we all ordered food afterwards. This started at 13:00, so more lunch than breakfast really.

I'm obviously completely uneducated on these things as I would have expected a buffet breakfast like they do at Toby or restaurants connected to premier inn (although with osme posher options like smoked salmon at that price!)
I would have expected tea coffee and fruit juices, not alcohol. Is alcohol that early in the day a thing now? The though makes me rather queasy!

Where I live in Scotland brunch is between breakfast and lunch.

In cafes and restaurants that means that its a full Scottish breakfast but they might add chips instead of potato scone or sweet or savoury pancakes.

There is absolutely no alcohol

At 1pm they start serving lunch and that is the end of the brunch menu.

I can assure you that bottomless brunches are available in Scotland, as well as other types of brunch with alciohol, often past 1pm.

Each place is different but i've never known anywhere to not explain what's included on the site?

I've had:

small breakfast plate (eggs bennie, avo toast) plus unlimited prosecco

Unlimited pizza plus unlimited prosecco

Small breakfast plate plus unlimited beer or bloody mary

There's always been a time slot of 2 hours and cost between £29 and £34 per head

But I wouldn't expect or assume anything, i'd check the terms when i booked

Maybe in the cities but n the sticks of Fife they are unheard of.

In my city they've set a limit on "bottomless" I think it's 2 bottles of prosecco per person or something like that. It was getting out of hand with drunk people and shoppers having to mix.

people saying it's too early to drink... we usually go at midday or 1 so although it's called brunch when it's bottomless it's usually later than a normal brunch

So, not "bottomless" at all then.
