I went to get in the car to go to the shop with her at her request and I asked her what we were needing.

So- she’s in bed in the huff and I’m downstairs watching eastenders. They really are giant toddlers!

@SoggyPaper , you never know, he might surprise you! My dd1 wasn’t much older when she wanted to jump into the deep end without her armbands. I was already in the deep end, so I said Ok.
She came up swimming in a sort of largely underwater tadpole-wriggle. Or perhaps like a baby dolphin.

She never looked back, always loved the water, still does decades later.
Another time, why not let him go - you can always catch him!

I provided breakfast

I do let him try - once I’m in the pool to rescue him. He thinks he can go without me!

Suggested getting up and ready for school.
Was unable to teleport instantly out of the bathroom mid-wee when DD finally decided she was in a burning hurry.
Rudely told DS that his hair looked good after a painstaking gelling session.
Didn’t quite park close enough to school.

Dd12 pizza wasn’t ready for when she came home from her friends. She was starrvvinngg😭😱

she did a proper Kevin and Perry on me, soon put a stop to that one!

I ruined my 6 year old's morning by insisting that she not change her (acceptable all term so far) trousers for a dress when she decided they were "uncomfortable and stupid" 2 minutes after we should have left for a steady walk to school (we ran and made it on time)

I continually ruin her life by only providing fruit for a break time snack (as requested by the school...). Apparently no one else has fruit, they all have "nice" stuff...

Told DD13 that she couldn't take all her big bottles of toiletries on holiday and these needed to go into smaller bottles that are 100ml. How could do I expect her to cope with so little for seven days?!

Told her to vacuum.

I declared her shoes to be too small for her.

DS24 who is always very chatty about alsorts... replied to MY non-important question "mum, you do know I don't have time for this or even DO small talk don't you"

1.5 year old can now reach to open the doors and keeps running off every 2 minutes. I got DH to order some safety gates tonight. So I've ruined his life but he isn't quite aware just yet 😆

I objected to getting up at 4.30am today. This went down poorly with the toddler.

Then I said goodbye to the teenager in the street and the toddler waved to him as he left for school/we went to nursery. There were other people from school around and now they will know he has a mother and a young brother. Unforgivable stuff. I should have said goodbye inside the house where it can remain a secret.
