Water is too wet. And I wiped my own bum.

Not only did I stop ds from watching YouTube on his laptop when I caught him on it past bedtime (he wasn’t even tired so what is the point of trying to get to sleep) but this morning I insisted he got up for school.

I asked my 18 year old if he wanted to come and look at the brand new car I'm ordering tomorrow. Mostly for me in the day time, but also for him to use of an evening/weekend. He said no, it was really inconsiderate of me as I know he had a gaming day planned and also he has no interest in driving. Is just not important to him. So I asked why I had paid £55 a week for lessons for the last 4 months and he got all flustered and stomped off. Apparently that's DIFFERENT.

He apologised this morning , very sheepishly and said he was a bit of an arseole but the end of A levels stress is getting to him. But he literally doesn't care about what car I get as its for me. So I'm going to tell him I've ordered a pink fiat 500 complete with eye lashes and flower decals . Let him stew for 6 months .

I wouldn't let 10 yr old DD wear booty shorts for non-uniform day, with a big hoodie so it looked like she had nothing on her bottom half! I have ruined her entire life 🤣

AmbushedByCake · 20/05/2022 12:52

We're all terrible parents. Shame on us.

I told my DS that it was Friday, not Saturday, so yes it was still a school day and not the weekend. The fact that it is Friday is no defence.

Trinacham · 20/05/2022 12:55

I put him down so I could put some clothes on (4 months)

Crocsandshocks · 20/05/2022 12:57

I got him out of a sports tournament he said he didn't want to do. Then he came home disappointed he wasn't doing the tournament.

nearlyspringyay · 20/05/2022 12:58

My not toddler cried because she had to walk the dog with me, she also cried because she had to have a shower and then cried because her hair was too dry because I blow dried it for like she asked me to. then she cried because her sister looked at her the wrong way...and so it went on.

I'm guessing we are starting to hit the hormonal years...

SugarandLime · 20/05/2022 12:59

When dropping teen dd off at her bus stop this morning.

Just as she was getting out the car, I told her her skirt was tucked into her knickers, I thought to save her embarrassment 🤔, but the glare I received was....alarming and was then abruptly told to "JUST GO!!" whilst doing the quick untuck and flouncing off.

HelloBarkness · 20/05/2022 13:01

I admitted I was wrong and apologized for something insignificant
"you are being an awful mother today"

Which makes a nice change from last week when he had a splinter and I was "the worst doctor he had ever met!"

He's 5.

Amichelle84 · 20/05/2022 13:01

Wouldn't let him eat the cat food

PlainJaneSuperbrainthe2nd · 20/05/2022 13:03

Someone else got to the crossing before us and pressed the button. Disaster.

Also - refusing to give sweets and chocolate before breakfast.

system2319 · 20/05/2022 13:07

Me standing in the porch shouting 'bye, bye....' whilst she was walking down the drive and onto the pavement. Senior school age going to school. I love it!

Ithinkwemightgetaholiday · 20/05/2022 13:10

DD remembered on the college bus this morning that when we go to Cyprus you have to put used toilet paper in a bin instead of flushing it. I was messaged with this fact, not sure what I was supposed to do with it/about it Tbh I think she's stressing about anything..first ALevel exam on Mon 😬

NearlyHeadlessNick · 20/05/2022 13:10

Wouldn't let my 2 year old have a Bakewell tart for breakfast.
Made my 4 year old put clothes on.

AledsiPad · 20/05/2022 13:11

I refused to sign a permission form because he refused to serve a (very much deserved) punishment at school.

This means he will NEVER go to college and it's all my fault. Grin

DisappointingAvocado · 20/05/2022 13:11

I wasn't able to produce the sunhat that he left at nursery yesterday, for him to wear to nursery.

ObjectionHearsay · 20/05/2022 13:13

Some of these 🤣

I dared to turn the morning cartoons off as we needed to leave for the school run.

How very dare I deprive him of this, "it's sooooo unfair" Ds7

LeftFootForward · 20/05/2022 13:16

I'm not sure yet, but when my young teenage daughter gets home from school I'm sure she'll think of something 😂

HelloSpringIveMissedYou · 20/05/2022 13:17

On my days holiday I wouldn't give him a lift here there and everywhere. He had a massive 17 year old toddler strop Hmm

Apparently he's leaving where he'll be appreciated, I told him excellent news all round - he's still here...

Oddsocks55 · 20/05/2022 13:20

She didn't have any tights to wear for school. I found her a pair of tights in her drawer, she didn't want THOSE because they feel funny. She didn't have any other tights to wear because she hadn't put them in the wash.

ColdHappyBap · 20/05/2022 13:21

I believed her when she told me her PE kit still fit.

Dontlickthetrolley · 20/05/2022 13:24

I suggested putting a jumper and coat (v light weight, not like I was asking for his winter coat!) on whilst he was stood in the rain with just a Tshirt

TreatTrimTame · 20/05/2022 13:28

I wished her good luck with her GCSEs today. As I let her out of the car I had driven her to Mcdonalds for a treat breakfast then to school in. Apparently I shouldn't have mentioned them and now if she fails its my fault.

BeanyBops · 20/05/2022 13:32

Toddler mums, I feel you (that's not to say older kids are necessarily easier, I just haven't got there yet!). What special sort of sadists are they, these tiny little beasts???

This morning's highlight was crying because she wanted to walk and then crying because I said she could walk.

Her dad's away 6am-8pm today, so I am meant to be doing all entertainment and three meals and a bath (as well as the housework and dog care) without a car too. I am PMTIng and we are both angry My hat goes off to mums who do this everyday.

Breeblebree · 20/05/2022 13:38

My toddler wanted 2 milks in her cereal. I put in more milk. She didn’t want more milk, she wanted 2 milks.

This is on top of the fact that last night I ruined bedtime as she wanted to get in the bath with her clothes off, but wanted me to achieve that without actually taking her top off.

I’m the worst.
