Most unpleasant celeb you've ever met?

I met a well known mum of a celebrity today. I was offering to give her a hand as she had dropped some shopping on the way to her car.

She shouted 'Don't touch! It's fruit Confused' I said oh sorry, thought you needed a hand there. She said no, just don't touch. I'm fine.

I was shocked and walked off.

Have you ever met a celebrity that's been rude? Or sounded rude even if they weren't actually speaking to you?

Judy Murray was the first celebrity mum I thought of. But I refuse to believe it was her OP saw because I think she is lovely and would never be rude.

Judy Murray is absolutely delightful!

Ah. I didn’t know that. I only know of Mark Wright because of Michelle Keegan (plus I’ve been binge watching the royals on Netflix and he is in that).

Mark was on TV long, long before Michelle.

I refuse to believe the story about Ashley in Coronation Street :(

I was disappointed by George Sampson, but utterly by chance delighted by Pippin from LOTR.

Tryhard40 · 09/05/2022 20:53

Who the fuck is Carol Wright? 😂

ImFree2doasiwant · 09/05/2022 20:53

Lily Allen was incredibly unpleasant. Rude, abd full of herself (before she was very famous) Her dad was very nice

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 09/05/2022 20:53

John Craven is the only well-known person I've met that I would go out of my way to avoid!

Well that’s my entire childhood ruined.

RitaFaircloughsWig · 09/05/2022 20:55

Hugh Grant!

Antony Cotton - played Sean in Corrie.. not met personally but I do know he speaks to his delivery drivers like something on his shoe and is incredibly arrogant

He is renowned to be an arse

MarmiteCoriander · 09/05/2022 20:55

Bruno Tonioli- arrived 3hrs late for a medical appointment to check fitness to go on a TV show. Got angry that we didn't cancel other peoples appointments to accommodate him. Refused to acknowledge he was late.

Tina Hobley from Holby City. Not rude as such, but looked down her nose at me and the I did at the time.

Pinana · 09/05/2022 20:56

John Leslie. I was on Wheel of Fortune when he presented it. He was charming when the cameras were rolling but as soon as they weren't he was a grumpy got. Didn't even speak to any of us.

I was on Blockbusters too, and Bob Holness was lovely!

incognitodorrito · 09/05/2022 20:56

Rihanna, junkie and very horrid to staff

GinnysGin · 09/05/2022 20:56

Will Young I met him in a bar pissed as a fart (me not him) and he was so lovely I was like 'Will, meet Sophie (my friend)' and he shook her hand and said hello and chatted to us. I was smashed. Bless him.

Gok Wan was less pleasant when I was smashed walking through Soho and I said 'Gok I bloody love you, it's all about the confidence' and he just ignored me! I did love him though, loved his shows, but I probably sounded like I was taking the piss.

John Terry - ick, made my skin crawl.

Lordofmyflies · 09/05/2022 20:58

There is definitely a reverse fame to politeness rule. I used to work in a business in which I often had face to face contact with 'celebrities' and royals. It was always the C listers who had attitude and spoke rudely to me. A listers generally where very polite and unassuming. George Michael was one of the most humble and kind people I ever met. Lawrence Fox was a demanding, arrogant ahole.

isitme111 · 09/05/2022 20:58

Who's Carol Wright ?

Stylishkidintheriot · 09/05/2022 20:58

The twins from funhouse. My guide group were part of the audience and they were grumpy witches.

Paul, Bob and Nick from Franz ferdinand are all lovely

I know, I'm sorry ☹️ hopefully there will be others that will post and say they found him charming and balance it out!

It always seems that when people recount having met a celeb the celeb is either 'really really awful' or they are the complete opposite and are 'really, really lovely'. It's as though people want to make more of a story out of their brief meeting. I suspect that 99% of celebs are unremarkable if you meet them in passing.

I've met a shit ton of celebs in a previous life and people often interpret any 'off' interaction as them being dreadful.

Some really are dreadful though. I mean it's fame so it attracts narcs. And feeds that.

But yes, 90% are just like everyone else really!

The woman who played Becky in Corrie (married to Steve)

honestly she is rude and entitled very much do you know who I am… and her (ex now I believe) husband was very much like ‘do you know who my wife is…. I will be telling her celeb pals about this shoddy service’ just for the record they paid for a reduced option level of ‘something’ then complained when it didn’t include items they wanted and expected us to do them for free and no quibbles

I’m ashamed to say the H ended up getting what he wanted…. And it was the actress some time later wanted something not available to her and thankfully then the bosses stuck to the level they had paid for. I cannot watch anything with her in now at all

Mm. Not sure i believe this one

catandcoffee · 09/05/2022 20:59

The opposite to what you've asked...Donny Osmond ....oh my what a genuinely lovely person. Was happy to chat for ages and take selfish.

Athleticpotential · 09/05/2022 21:00

Richard Osman. I haven't met him as such but I saw a show he was hosting recorded. Admittedly it went on for a really long time because one of the "celebrity" guests wasn't very good and lots had to be re done, but he was really short tempered with the crew.

Lorraine Kelly was also a guest. She was completely polished, not one word of hers had to be re taken but she stayed lovely to everyone throughout.

Not John Craven, Lord of the Vee Neck Jumper? Say it isn't so.

Tryhard40 · 09/05/2022 21:01

The twins from funhouse

OMG I'm sorry but I'm pmsl at this! Talk about scraping the barrel!!

catandcoffee · 09/05/2022 21:02

Selfies....not selfish ..😀

Gherkingreen · 09/05/2022 21:02

Obv many ppl are just unpleasant but I do feel sorry for celebrities who get a bad rep for not being sweetness and light the entire time.
Haven't met anyone unpleasant, but can report Peter Kay (simply delightful) Jeremy Paxman (lovely, friendly twinkly eyed), John Humphreys (intense but pleasant). Sat next to Gordon Ramsay and family in a small pop-up restaurant; I didn't notice them until a customer approached for a photo.
We didn't want photos but he was super pleasant, chatty and happy to do selfies - if I'd have been out with my family having a quiet dinner it's the last thing I'd want but he was charming.

GaiaWise · 09/05/2022 21:02

Different perspective on Paul McCartney. My sister spent a train journey sitting near him, standard class. They chatted for the 2 hour journey. She had never been a fan of the Beatles or him but said he was an absolute sweetheart.
