Most unpleasant celeb you've ever met?

I met a well known mum of a celebrity today. I was offering to give her a hand as she had dropped some shopping on the way to her car.

She shouted 'Don't touch! It's fruit Confused' I said oh sorry, thought you needed a hand there. She said no, just don't touch. I'm fine.

I was shocked and walked off.

Have you ever met a celebrity that's been rude? Or sounded rude even if they weren't actually speaking to you?

It’s so funny - you have literally derailed the thread on the basis of how annoying it is when posters don’t answer the question!

BaggiesBride · 10/05/2022 20:45

Janet Street Porter apparently. We stayed in a beautiful hotel for our honeymoon and she was a regular visitor. She was a horror to the staff, speaking to them like 💩. Somehow it doesn't surprise me.

Snowraingain · 10/05/2022 20:48

I think asking any celeb for a selfie when they’re in the pub or supermarket is awful. At a stage door or a meet and greet is ok. But people whinging because a celebrity didn’t want to do a selfie with them in Sainsburys are pathetic.
The thought of asking for a selfie with Ross kemp in a pub is mortifying or David tennant when he just wants to do his shopping. Awful.

Judy Murray was the first celebrity mum I thought of. But I refuse to believe it was her OP saw because I think she is lovely and would never be rude.

That is the same person I thought of, I have met Judy Murray and she was lovely, no idea who Carol Wright is though??

Naga Munchetty is a classic bitch. When I met her she literally did the look you up and down thing with that look on her face.

I just found out recently that Jurgen Klopp is an absolute player, recently paying off his last fling. That's disappointing.

Wait, WHAT, @hamstersarse ?
About Klopp I mean Shock

FloozingThePlot · 10/05/2022 20:52

Will Self. Awful. But that's hardly a surprise.

LetHimHaveIt · 10/05/2022 20:53

I filmed a pilot for about two or three hours, with Naga Munchetty. I was terrified and she really put me at ease. She was ace.

ZebraLyghts · 10/05/2022 20:54

A relative worked with David Jason for years and said he was horrid.

I've not met a horrible celeb in person I don't think, but met/worked with quite a few who were really nice including Andy Murray

Jeanette Winterson.

"Oh no! I haven't read this! I'm a huge fan."

You expect a woman who boasted of killing a rabbit would be pleasant? Can't you find someone better to be a fan of? Beyond her murderous tendencies among the animal kingdom she's really tiresomely pretentious.

I think John Carey summed her up best when he described her ramblings as 'barely sane'

You really have taken this personally, haven’t you? Can you understand that not everybody wants to delightedly receive your misty-eyed stories about the time you met (e.g.) Ian Wright at the gym once and he was delightful etc etc., on a thread about rude celebs?

CherryRipe1 · 10/05/2022 20:58

QueenKong101 · 10/05/2022 15:05

Gavin & Stacey-era James Corden.

Tried to crash a private party I was holding in a Soho bar by barging his way in. When asked to leave he tried the whole "do you know who I am?" routine.

We did indeed know who he was, which made turfing him out all the more entertaining.😂

Haha. Excellent. I wonder with these celebs if they don't know who they are as they have to ask others? JC was in a pub in Bucks. He actually smiled at me & dd & she said she liked his shoes. Exchanged further smiles & left him in peace.

notagamer · 10/05/2022 21:00

39 pages in @Iamthewombat ans you are the first to come on (ironically) moaning about thread being derailed (but yourself not answering the question).

so it does kind of look like you ate something of a minority (lone figure)

Martin Lewis
Proper up himself

I've met Martin Lewis many times - found him to be lovey- really kind and generous . I had the misfortune to host Simon Weston at a Charity "do" ( for which he got paid btw) - he fits that description perfectly- spent the whole evening on his phone and spoke to the staff and other attendees like dirt

Ian wright you say… lovely chap. Really lovely 😂

@faw2009 TGI Friday Chris Evans.

@pixie5121

Er, I'm a fan of her writing if that's ok with you Missatan?

Showit · 10/05/2022 21:11

The one who played Hyacinth Bouquet, can't remember her name. Very rude, dismissive, looking down her nose at an after performance party. Bit like her tv character actually.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 10/05/2022 21:14

StopStartStop · 10/05/2022 19:27

Really? Oh dear.

I enjoy his work (not to mention his accent). Then I read his Twitter feed. All I'll say is that that particular medium has a very effective way of showing people's personalities in glorious technicolour. I can well believe what you say.

Goldijobsandthe3bears · 10/05/2022 21:19

I can’t imagine wanting to take a selfie with anyone I didn’t know famous or not 😂

Goldijobsandthe3bears · 10/05/2022 21:20

I get why kids would though

YouWhatLove · 10/05/2022 21:20

@ZebraLyghts I’ve heard a lot of very dodgy rumours about David Jason from people in the industry over the years. Lots of “there’s a reason he’s not on tv anymore” comments and knowing looks.

@MarieIVanArkleStinks ive worked with Neil Oliver many times and he’s never been anything other than absolutely lovely. He actually voices his honest opinion on matters which incredibly rare for someone who worked i the BBC for years. I can understand people disagreed with his views but I certainly have never seen him do anything that I would consider deceitful or thoroughly unpleasant.

CoastalWave · 10/05/2022 21:20

Amanda Holden. Rude. (used to shop in the Sainsburys I worked at!)

Wintersgirl · 10/05/2022 21:20

Yes, Patricia Routledge (Hyacinth) is a horror..
