Most unpleasant celeb you've ever met?

I met a well known mum of a celebrity today. I was offering to give her a hand as she had dropped some shopping on the way to her car.

She shouted 'Don't touch! It's fruit Confused' I said oh sorry, thought you needed a hand there. She said no, just don't touch. I'm fine.

I was shocked and walked off.

Have you ever met a celebrity that's been rude? Or sounded rude even if they weren't actually speaking to you?

I used to live in the same village as Dom Joly. His kids ran out in front of my then partner's car - Dom Joly apologised and said 'Just run them over next time!'.
I've never liked his comedy much but he was a lovely person.

I’m glad about this. I always had the feeling he was nice!

GlitterSparkley · 09/05/2022 20:33

A well known american wrestler from the late 90’s (this was in the late 90’s so he was very famous at the time) - but I can’t for the life of me remember his name now. An absolute arrogant tosser. Saw him in a hotel in London. He barged past an elderly couple because they were moving slowly. And I mean areogant knocked them out of the way. Utter wanker.

I so don’t want this to be true, she always comes across as so warm and genuine!

Oops, this was about Sara Cox. She’s one of my favourites on the radio

RampantIvy · 09/05/2022 20:34

James Martin. He switches on the charm for when he is on show, but was quite grumpy when book signing and photos with fans.

Geoff Boycott. One of the rudest and most arrogant people I have ever met.

This was @ Georgeskitchen! 😂

No it wasn't Pete Price 😅😅

Judy Murray was the first celebrity mum I thought of. But I refuse to believe it was her OP saw because I think she is lovely and would never be rude.

I can confirm that Judy Murray is indeed lovely.

foxlover47 · 09/05/2022 20:35

I disagree ... I love these threads lol
They always say never meet your hero don't they!

boopedoopie · 09/05/2022 20:36

Antony Cotton - played Sean in Corrie.. not met personally but I do know he speaks to his delivery drivers like something on his shoe and is incredibly arrogant

MrsDrudge · 09/05/2022 20:36

David Jason - an absolute luvvy up himself git.
He must be a fantastic actor as he always plays such likeable characters.

Not me, but Dh used to work in a London high-end furniture store. He says that Ainsley Harriot and Jimmy Carr pretty much tie as his most arrogant and unpleasant customers. Also Charles Saatchi when he was with Nigella, and she was really apologetic.

Nope, I refuse to believe that Ainsley is anything other than lovely.

That's made me sad. I've always thought I'd quite like to be her mate.

Ive met Sara Cox on 2 occasions and she was nice and chatty, very down to earth. I suppose it depends on lots of things.

Agree - Geldof absolute twat!

You know who was always lovely?
Sarah Harding - she used to live near me and shopped local and the kids used to ask for selfies and autographs all the time while she was out and about. She was always gracious and never said no to them.

Jamie Oliver nice too - and his wife.

No it wasn't Pete Price 😅😅

Pete Price was my first thought too... locally known as the lizard 😂😂

RosesAndHellebores · 09/05/2022 20:38

Terry Venables for sleaze and dishonesty
Bruce Forsyth for being utterly foul

Joanne Lumley and Michael Caine however are incredibly charming and humble.

I’m glad it wasn’t Rylan’s mum, I like her.

That was my first thoughts I love Rylan's mum!!

Twospaniels · 09/05/2022 20:38

bobbingalongside · 09/05/2022 19:39

It was Carol Wright

Whose Mum is she?

Longdistance · 09/05/2022 20:38

Rab C Nesbitt, miserable sod.
Peter Mandelsohn, complete creep and vile 🤮

I have to say whenever I see him in interviews I never warn to him. But I absolutely love the characters he plays.

Quickones · 09/05/2022 20:40

Quick name change but Malique Thompson-Dyer. Thinks he’s God’s gift to women, tried to pay me for sex and just a horrible tiny person.

Jodie Marsh was amazing though, she was a complete sweetheart.

Anjo2011 · 09/05/2022 20:40

Michael Crawford. Rude, miserable.

Chanel05 · 09/05/2022 20:40

Lee Ryan from Blue. Big fan of the, "Don't you know who I am?" card.

Lauren Goodger, Gemma Collins. Both awful.

incywincyspider1 · 09/05/2022 20:41

MrsGHarrison87 · 09/05/2022 20:25

Nicola Roberts was rude and offhand to me when I was a 16 year old working in a shop. I was a big Girls Aloud fan as well. Gutted.

I always get the impression that her 'rudeness' is more about her being g shy and not very confident.

Crikeyalmighty · 09/05/2022 20:41

Without wishing to be a name dropper - because I work in entertainment I've met loads some people who are fantastic with fans are two faced arses in real life and the reverse is true. some of the nicest people I know including some names on here aren't that great with fans - if you got pestered and hassled as much as some people do or someone catches you at the wrong moment then it's easy to come across as an arse. I'm sure some would say I was too.

Chanel05 · 09/05/2022 20:41

Also - Noel Edmonds 🙄

DarleneSnell · 09/05/2022 20:41

No surprise re Carol Wright, she's always come across badly on Towie!

SpringLobelia · 09/05/2022 20:42

I am glad Judy Murray is apparently lovely. I have no interest in tennis but whenever she is on the radio or tv I listen as she has a lovely manner and always has something interesting to say.
