Most unpleasant celeb you've ever met?

I met a well known mum of a celebrity today. I was offering to give her a hand as she had dropped some shopping on the way to her car.

She shouted 'Don't touch! It's fruit Confused' I said oh sorry, thought you needed a hand there. She said no, just don't touch. I'm fine.

I was shocked and walked off.

Have you ever met a celebrity that's been rude? Or sounded rude even if they weren't actually speaking to you?

Chris Moyles from Radio 1 wasn't pleasant when I happened to be in the same hotel bar as him 20ish years ago (I don't hold a grudge 😉) I sat in an empty chair near where some of the Radio 1 group were sat) He told me to move. He obviously thought he was the boss of the bar.

Me and my mum were big fans of professor Robert winston until we met him in real life 🤨🙄

Yup. Sat next to him at dinner. Self-regarding and pompous.
David Bowie was utterly and unnecessarily humiliating to my 7 year old son.

Crikeyalmighty · 10/05/2022 18:57

@lameasahorse - well known in the business that Boy George is a flakey , up his own backside total tit- he is legendary for it- Now Tony Hadley on the other hand-- what a guy! Really lovely and very funny and down to earth. My H had a very pleasant few hours with him in the artists tent . Nick Mason from Pink Floyd is also one of the loveliest chaps you could meet.

Oh am sad to hear about Bowie.

IcedPurple · 10/05/2022 18:58

I've had an encounter with Bill Oddie, though.

Are you Alan Partridge in disguise?

GellerYeller · 10/05/2022 18:58

Rick Parfitt- I think I got him on an off day - several colleagues report him on other occasions chatting for ages, going away and bringing back cups of tea for them etc.
@FabulousKilljoys and the other PP, I'm so chuffed MCR were so lovely. It must be exhausting being the saviours of the beaten and the damned😂. DCs love them.

alwaysontheloo · 10/05/2022 19:05

Philip Schofield. Complete cunt.

@GellerYeller haha, they really are just the nicest guys. I love em and my DC are very jealous that I've met them and they haven't 😂

That doesn't surprise me about McGrath. During my skint student days I used to supplement my income by busking at my local tube station (Finsbury Park-cello student at the Guildhall) Had quite a few celebs passing through on their way home to Crouch End. McGrath always looked at me like i was shit on his shoes. Always got a pound coin (and a smile) though off Adrian Dunbar!

I've just read the whole thread but... Mother of God... this is my favourite entry ever so it is!

Glitterblue · 10/05/2022 19:08

Helen Mirren was SO rude. She got an honorary degree at my graduation ceremony and was at the graduation Ball, so people were asking for photos with her and she was just so rude to everyone.

Torvill and Dean are lovely, very down to earth, very polite and happy to chat.

Sadandfedup2 · 10/05/2022 19:10

Seashanty3 · 10/05/2022 17:58

Sandi Toksvig. I have worked with a lot of celebs thanks to my job, and she is the very very worst of them all.

No way! I thought she seems lovely on TV. I think we need more details!

DoubleShotEspresso · 10/05/2022 19:10

Sir David Starkey- absolutely vile and behaved as if he actually believed was royalty. Horrific temper and his verbal exchanges with staff (specifically female) was so offensive I rejigged the team . Remember it like it was yesterday.

Theworldsgonemad · 10/05/2022 19:12

Tom Hardy
Incredibly difficult man to work with for both crew and other cast members

mum2bee2022 · 10/05/2022 19:12

Norman Lamont - rude and shouty
Idris Elba - lovely
Boris Becker - Rude

Caminante · 10/05/2022 19:16

Oh I got confused with the other thread about nice celebs.
Hmmmm...no I have not had the misfortune to meet any nasty ones.
Or nice ones in a bad day.

Oh I met Grandpa from the Munsters once, in the restaurant he used to own. He was hilariously unfriendly until you'd paid the bill and then would allow a photo with him.

Escourtie · 10/05/2022 19:19

@PuppyPowerTool Seriously that surprises me he seems so nice I've had the hots for him since his Soldier Soldier days I'm Heartbroken 😢

Neil Oliver a deceitful and thoroughly unpleasant man.

Really? Oh dear.

Many moons ago Eddie Large was getting through security at the airport ahead of me. He was asked to put something or other on the belt and said the classic 'don't you know who I am' to which the security woman said 'I know who you are and the rules stay the same'.

Tom Baker - ex Dr Who - used to get a train from our local station and would always hold the door to the ticket office open for everyone. And chat to anyone sitting near him on the train. Apparently he sometimes shops locally and always has a chat to the assistants.

I agree about Tom Baker. I sat with him on a train coming back from London and got off at the same stop as me (presumably your local station is also mine!). He was lovely and chatted to a family of tourists who were also on the train and gave their son some money to spend on his holiday.

My DS, an avid Dr Who fan, used to see him most Saturdays in our local WH Smith's where DS worked. On DS's last day in WH Smith's when he was about to go to university, DS plucked up courage to ask him if he could have a photo with him and he very happily did. My DS is still very proud of that photo!

Georgyporky · 10/05/2022 19:37

Noel Edmonds.
My then 8 year-old son knocked on his door & told him his helicopter had woken up all his family when it landed in the small hours.
NE told an 8 year-old to "fuck off" & slammed the door in his face.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 10/05/2022 19:37

Met a few through work..
Geri Halliwell total cow
Robbie Williams awful
jamie Oliver rude
john Cleese rude

David Tenant lovely
David and Samantha Cameron quiet but very polite and friendly
David Beckham lovely
Joanna Lumley amazing
Daniel Radcliffe amazing

Herejustforthisone · 10/05/2022 19:40

I’m suddenly obsessed with Andrew Lincoln and want him to wink at me.

Why did you send your son to have this conversation?

Why did you send your son to have this conversation?

I was about to ask the same. You sent an 8 year old child to complain to an adult about their behaviour?

Youhoo867711 · 10/05/2022 19:46

The only interaction with a celebrity was in 1969 invited onto the stage
to meet 'sooty'. How stuck up he was, would only whisper in Harry Corbetts
ear.

WildOnce · 10/05/2022 19:47

@WhackingPhoenix I wonder if we worked in the same shop?! Vic Reeves and his wife used to come into the shop I worked in as a teen every weekend and he was very dismissive and up himself. She preened about the places
