Most unpleasant celeb you've ever met?

I met a well known mum of a celebrity today. I was offering to give her a hand as she had dropped some shopping on the way to her car.

She shouted 'Don't touch! It's fruit Confused' I said oh sorry, thought you needed a hand there. She said no, just don't touch. I'm fine.

I was shocked and walked off.

Have you ever met a celebrity that's been rude? Or sounded rude even if they weren't actually speaking to you?

Ian Wright used to use a gym near my old office block and was often approached by people wanting autographs and pictures - he was always friendly and chatty. Seemed like a genuinely nice bloke.

This doesn't surprise me at. I've watched that clip of him meeting his old teacher, who he had thought was dead, and it makes me cry every time.

Jess Glynne and her entourage were vile

I have no idea what JG is like as a person, but she cancelled performing at the Isle of Wight festival within 5 minutes of her actually meant to be appearing which broke my then 8 year old little heart! So we have gone off her a bit in our family. Grin

Michael winner. Dh is a chef and was working the carvery one sunday. He was serving MW, who was such an arse (rude, superior). Dh (who doesn't put up rudeness) ended up saying words to the effect. "I don't get paid enough to deal with this".

FabFitFifties · 10/05/2022 06:38

Cilla visited the hospital I worked in. I didn't meet her, but she was reported to awful.

Older women may appreciate this. The actor Terence Stamp was lovely to my friend who spotted him on a no 24 bus. She fangirled on about his magnificent performance in the film Blow Up and he was charm itself. Later that evening she remembered he hadn't actually been in the film at all.

I've been on a bus with Terrence Stamp! All the way from Tower Hill to The Strand. I was thrilled and the rest of the bus was American tourists who didn't recognise him.
I didn't speak to him but he totally knew I was gawking at him.
Still a very striking man, and a bit of an icon... slightly let down by the fact that he was wearing Crocs.

I’ve met a lot through a previous line of work. It’s hard to know as it wasn’t in their interests to be especially rude to me but lovely ones were:
Victoria Beckham
Liam Gallagher
Maggie Smith
Russell Crowe
Jimmy Carr
Robbie Williams
Kylie
Russell Brand - huge flirt. I wasn’t sure if he was actually flirting with me or just a very sexual person but I kept feeling like he was going to ask me back to his place haha.

The only ones I struggled with were Geri Halliwell. She was perfectly polite just very unaware of other peoples feelings is the only way to put it and Roman Atkinson who seemed really nice but was painfully shy to the point of awkwardness.

GinUnicorn · 10/05/2022 06:43

Sorry Rowan not Roman

alwaysontheloo · 10/05/2022 06:43

Paddy McGuiness. Rude, unpleasant and lecherous.

Ddot · 10/05/2022 06:44

Not me but a mate met tom jones, she and hubby having coffee outside a cafe all the chairs tables taken. Tom stud there eyeing everyone up with arms crossed waiting for someone to give up their table (probably) nobody did, mates hubby shouted alright Tom, he huffed and walked off. Someone I worked with went to see sporty spice sing she snubbed all her fans on the way out, didnt even acknowledge them. He was totally crestfallen bless

lollipoprainbow · 10/05/2022 06:45

Gabby Roslin was a right self centered cow when I met her. Drives me mad when she's on telly being all lovely and smiley to everyone

She's always irritated me !!

get a grip

FabFitFifties · 10/05/2022 06:50

My sister's friend, many years ago, stupidly wrote and requested a meet and greet with Jim Davidson, as he was due to appear at local theatre. To be avoided at all costs.

Ddot · 10/05/2022 06:51

Remembered another mate who worked with
Esther Ransom vile, rude, hideously obnoxious woman but she was mates with Jimmy savile so 🤦‍♀️

Bobbins36 · 10/05/2022 07:01

@ApresSailingQueen1 that cancellation has pretty much ruined her reputation industry wide. Couldn’t happen to a nicer person - didn’t surprise me when I heard about it. Shame for your little one - she’ll
see much better gigs in her life though for sure x

This may go down like a lead balloon, but Caroline Flack was a brat...

I agree. So rude when I met her. I've met quite a few celebs and almost all have been friendly.

Longsight2019 · 10/05/2022 07:06

Jean Cristoph Novelli- friendly and had a photo

Simon from Sunday Brunch at Doncaster station. Stopped. Talked. Shook hands. Nice guy.

Enidcat5 · 10/05/2022 07:06

John Leslie. Yuck. Used to regular at the bar I worked at. Very arrogant.

Newestname002 · 10/05/2022 07:07

@MaChienEstUnDick

I met Nicolas Witchell at an event and he was polite for the brief time we chatted.

Also met Chris Eubank very briefly and he gave me a lovely smile as we past each other. I think he must have been on his way to Savile Row, which was close by. He was very dapper. 🌹

Backtomyoldname · 10/05/2022 07:12

Can we include bishops?

Bishop of Blackburn.

I was at a Church event and talking to a friend about our, now, adult children. He came up and joined in. Chattered together for a few minutes when he asked me a question.

I suppose he didn’t like my answer*, turned on his heels and walked off. I didn’t think much of it at the time, he was working the room.

The next day I spoke to my friend about it - Did I imagine that? Did he just flounce off? My friend confirmed that he did.

*His question….. why do you think your children don’t attend Church anymore. My answer……. Being gay they don’t feel welcome or included.

Later on reading him up I found that whilst he is not anti gay he’s not exactly inclusive.

Backtomyoldname · 10/05/2022 07:13

Not sure why some is randomly bold?

BadgerB · 10/05/2022 07:17

A family member (male) worked on an archaeological site with Tony Robinson. He said the young females were very careful to avoid him as much as possible.

Never met him, but Dappy was absolutely awful to someone who said she liked his music. Called it her guilty pleasure and he was fuming!! Google it. 😵

Just googled this what a twat. Although to call someone's music a guilty pleasure is clearly offensive!

Greg Wallace (MasterChef) total nob head. Flanked by massive security guards and refused to talk about or answer questions on MasterChef. Its all people wanted to talk to him about.

We were at the Good Food show and DH observed Greg Wallace using the gents and leaving without washing his hands 🤢🤮🤮

That;s interesting. Thanks. We are hoping to see George Ezra this year (who coincidentally was one of the musicians who stepped in and did additional sets on the day JG cancelled). (Although to be fair I think the George love is more mine than DCs! )
