Most unpleasant celeb you've ever met?

I met a well known mum of a celebrity today. I was offering to give her a hand as she had dropped some shopping on the way to her car.

She shouted 'Don't touch! It's fruit Confused' I said oh sorry, thought you needed a hand there. She said no, just don't touch. I'm fine.

I was shocked and walked off.

Have you ever met a celebrity that's been rude? Or sounded rude even if they weren't actually speaking to you?

Excuse me?

I said disgusting post from you and the other poster. Have we learned nothing?

Clearer?

Is this about Caroline Flack? You do realise we are not allowed to say she was anything other than a saint, don't you? I never met her and don't know what she was like. But we have to #BeKind now.

I thought those two were disgusting but you take the biscuit.

The woman is someone's daughter, sister, friend. She is dead. She killed herself.

You don't know her and never met her so why even comment?

For the one who claimed they knew someone who knew her, if any friend of mine spoke about someone in these circumstances I'd be disgusted to know them too.

The woman killed herself because of all the absolute shite people wrote about her online, yet still people are, sticking the boot in.

Abhorrent behaviour. Absolutely sickening.

Gently, people don’t become untouchable saintly figures just because they’ve committed suicide. They deserve pity and sympathy for being so desperate or desperately unwell, that they felt it was the only way to stop the pain.

That being said, I know someone who was friends with CF and they adored her, but she did have her issues. I expect, like many, she guarded her private life and had to deal with the fall out when she was not perceived as being exactly as her persona/brand.

Never mind worst celebrity…Cilla Black was one of nastiest humans I ever had the misfortune to cross paths with.

Axl was by far the nicest…friendly, down to earth and sincere.

I own a pair of her shoes.

They fit perfectly! I'm disappointed she was a bitch

IJoinedJustForThisThread · 10/05/2022 00:34

@Sheilaroundthefountain - glad you said Mark Lamar was lovely. Two pp had said he was horrible.

So glad pp have said George Michael was lovely, I’d have been heartbroken if he hadn’t been.

Is anyone actually surprised that Jim Davidson was horrible?

The only (far from) famous person I can recall is Nadia from Big Brother. Rude woman, still desperately wants people to know who she is, all these years later. She hasn’t (yet) done the “don’t you know who I am?” but we like to pretend we don’t know who she is and don’t fawn over her like she desperately wants us to.

Family member says Bruce Forsyth was exceptionally horrible to them when they were doing work for him.

Her own family have said in the documentary she wasn't a bloody saint. Laura Whitmore said that in her speech. Nobody ever said she was. the #bekind movement was launched to stop people absolutely bullying the life out of someone online, literally.

The irony.

Sam West - as a youngster, my daughter had a very, very minor part in one of his productions. He was absolutely delightful to all the cast. Paid for them all to go out for a meal when the run ended. Fantastic!

Oooh good to know. I have a crush on him!

I have no idea who Carol Wright is but I used to work with a woman with the same name who was pretty awful. Don’t think they could be the same person though.
Camilla Parker-Bowles, ignorant, rude.
Mark Kermode, thinks he’s a lot more than he is.

Noooo - I love Mark Kermode

Lessofallthisunpleasantness · 10/05/2022 00:52

Can't believe I am almost 50 and really don't think I have met a celebrity. Most regular people seem a'ight though.

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 10/05/2022 00:55

My cousin is an actor and I've checked this to see if their name appears which it hasn't thankfully!

Sapphirensteel · 10/05/2022 01:21

Some nice celebs. Years ago friend won a place at a dinner and was sat between Michael York ( shy but lovely) and Peter Blake, the artist ( divine and intelligent) her descriptions.
I briefly knew Tom Selleck’s sister in law — described as a lovely guy, great with her kids.
Simon Weston said hello to my dogs at a holiday place, I said hi to him but strangely didn’t realise who he was. Later I recognised his wife. They kept themselves very much to themselves. It was a very simple, quite basic holiday place in England.

Onceacheetah · 10/05/2022 01:26

@romdowa I'm not in the slightest surprised at Pat Short being vile. One of his friends beat the crap out of me for years.

bloodyplanes · 10/05/2022 01:30

Peter Davison- absolute letch
Jeremy kyle - arrogant
Nicola Roberts- absolutely zero personality

June Brown- lovely lady
Ulrika - lovely and very pretty

NamechangeFML · 09/05/2022 22:26

This may go down like a lead balloon, but Caroline Flack was a brat...

I heard this from a reputable source as well

Jenasaurus · 10/05/2022 01:34

In reverse to this, someone I thought might be not very nice in real life due to the role she plays (I know its only acting, but Ian Beale is like Adam Woodyatt so...) anyway Zaraah Abrahams is lovely, really friendly and was so nice to my daughter at the airport, nothing like her character she plays in Eastenders.

MardyOldGoth · 10/05/2022 01:34

This will surprise no one, I'm sure, but Dwight Yorke is an absolute creep who will try it on with anything in a skirt, including my friend and I, who were about 16 at the time (he would have been mid-20s).

James Dean Bradfield is a delightful man, very polite, chatty and friendly.

ElliesAnma · 10/05/2022 01:45

Merrill Osmond is a genuinely lovely kind and huggy man! I've met him lots of times and he greets me by my name now. They always say you shouldn't meet your hero but I'm so glad I did! He makes me feel like a teenager which is no mean feat as I'm in my 60's!

fermin · 10/05/2022 01:47

I used to work in a gift shop on a north London high street so saw many celebs. There was a coffee shop next door where Su Pollard used to go regularly for her coffee. On about 3/4 occasions she would come scuttling in to my shop afterwards and give me her biscotti as the coffee shop used to give one to her for free but she didn't like the biscotti and didn't want to offend them. She was hilarious. Also Julian Clary would often come in and I was always starstruck by him.

Marchitectmummy · 10/05/2022 02:14

Paul McCartney absolutely dreadful person, thinks he is funny and makes jokes at the expensive of others. Came across him often due to his daughter, who isn't too great either.

Carol McGiffin - I didn't know who she was, never watched the women programme but my god is she horrible. Really nasty woman, very rude has a truly unpleasant way about her.

Jimmy Carr - lived very very near him for a few years, lets just say he wasn't very popular

David Bowie and Iman - both so lovely, gentle people.

Bear Grills - so lovely, very warm, helpful person.

Patsy Palmer - Also so lovely.

Jamie Oliver and family - lovely.

Kate Moss - always very polite.

Heroicghosts · 10/05/2022 02:14

Glitterspy · 09/05/2022 22:42

Jeanette Winterson.

Oh no! I haven't read this! I'm a huge fan.

honeyrider · 10/05/2022 02:35

Naomi Campbell - saw her in a shop years ago and she was rude to the staff.

Time40 · 10/05/2022 02:37

Not met her personally but I'm reliably informed Miriam Margolyes is awful

I've met her. She was very nice and friendly to me.

Wuwu84 · 10/05/2022 02:40

Totally agree with this, he was meant to be speaking at a university event, I overheard the way he spoke to staff, he was so rude and demanding.

mackthepony · 10/05/2022 02:42

Jarvis Cocker.

Had the audacity to ask for an autograph and he looked at me like i was dirt.

Cannot even listen to any of his stupid songs anymore. Wanker
