Most unpleasant celeb you've ever met?

bobbingalongside · 09/05/2022 19:27

I met a well known mum of a celebrity today. I was offering to give her a hand as she had dropped some shopping on the way to her car.

She shouted 'Don't touch! It's fruit Confused' I said oh sorry, thought you needed a hand there. She said no, just don't touch. I'm fine.

I was shocked and walked off.

Have you ever met a celebrity that's been rude? Or sounded rude even if they weren't actually speaking to you?

Not met rylan or his mum but don't they seem lovely 😊

Er, no. Well, I've never seen his mum so I'm not commenting on her. Just him.

I have literally bumped into Peter Andre twice…once at a cash point in Brighton and we were moaning about parking . I didn’t actually recognise him the second time and he moved his car forward for me to park. We got chatting because he had an adorable dog sitting on the front seat …it was only when I drove home that I clocked who he was . Lovely guy.

Justin Fletcher. Arse.
David Grey. Rude.

We saw Justin Fletcher at Legoland and he was running after Simon Pegg desperately saying "Call me!" We laughed and said Simon had probably mentioned booking him for his kid's birthday party.

Mark is a millionaire. I think you need something about you to achieve that.

Just because you're a millionare doesn't mean you're talented....

clairebeacham · 09/05/2022 23:50

@grenlei Vicky Pattison is lovely - I did a week long Bootcamp with her once and she was so nice (I had no idea who she was before I went though 🤣).

Tralalalalalala50 · 09/05/2022 23:54

Johnny Depp. My student friends spent a long night in a random pub in Bristol with him nearly 20 years ago. Friendly and merry, apparently loves an English local pub!

TheQuern · 09/05/2022 23:54

An example of people having bad days - I was introduced to a fairly well known actor I admired at a party once and he was fairly awful -sneery and rude. I put it down to the fact that I was distinctly lacking in glamour or importance and he was very, very drunk- using the bar for support drunk.

A few months later, I read about his break up in the news and worked out that his wife must have walked out around the time of that party.

Poor chap, no wonder he was so pissed and pissed off.

Met cliff Richard about 20 years ago and he was horrible. So totally up himself.

Wasn't he good friends with Cilla Black? She has been mentioned countless times over the years on Mumsnet 'horrible celebrities' threads.

orchidsunrise · 09/05/2022 23:56

The OP example sounds to me like the reaction of someone with an anxiety problem... maybe she's not actually horrible?

Vernon Kay on the other hand was a right twat.

Fruitbatdancer · 09/05/2022 23:57

Vic reeves. A deeply unpleasant, lecherous, arrogant man.

Herejustforthisone · 09/05/2022 23:57

Kate Winslet: really precious and hard work. I really didn’t like her.
Liv Tyler: the sweetest woman ever.
Bill Oddie: glowered at me.
Christopher Timothy: really quiet. Lovely wife.
Martin Roberts: insecure and a bit hectic I think, but just wants to be liked, and was really sweet.
Kelly Jones of Stereophonics: so nice, bit flirty, very short.
Henry Blofeld: funny AF, a real orator.
Carol Vorderman: smart as a whip, really friendly.

I’ve met so many random people.

Excuse me?

Is this about Caroline Flack? You do realise we are not allowed to say she was anything other than a saint, don't you? I never met her and don't know what she was like. But we have to #BeKind now.

Herejustforthisone · 10/05/2022 00:00

Sophie Ellis Bextor is dreamy in real life. Her make up is off the scale.

Changingmynameyetagain · 10/05/2022 00:02

Peter Kay used to live locally and he was really rude, saw him on the local play park with his kids once (I was there with mine too) and I said hello as I walked past him and he properly snapped at me. I wasn’t even stopping to talk, I literally said hello and kept walking, he shouted at my back!
He had a bit of a reputation with the locals as being an arse.

David Beckham was lovely, I bumped into him once in Tesco and he was signing autographs for everyone and chatting to people.

FIL worked on the production crew for the Vicar of Dibley and said Dawn French was lovely.

That was my first thought.

I hadn’t realised, and wouldn’t know Mark Wright’s mum if I fell over her. Does she count as a celebrity in her own right?

Oh I saw her on Loose Women a few weeks ago ( or was in months? )

It's so funny how she brushes aside the fact that her boobs are implants in the first place 😁

LetitiaLeghorn · 10/05/2022 00:04

I met Derek Fowlds (yes minister, basil brush) shortly before he died. He was on the cruise as a guest not a paid speaker. What an absolutely lovely man. He was quite poorly but he spoke to anyone who stopped to chat. One afternoon I was a few loungers down from him, and a lot of people chatted with him and they all asked similar questions but he spoke to each like he'd never been asked before. The ship was raising money for charity, and he volunteered to have his photo taken with guests to help the cause. I was so sad to hear he'd passed away.

Probably any pub really.

That's made me sad. I've always thought I'd quite like to be her mate.

Can confirm, both she and Zoe Ball were horrible catty little cows back in the day. Unless you were a male DJ, in which case they had their tongues up your arse.

Ian Wright used to use a gym near my old office block and was often approached by people wanting autographs and pictures - he was always friendly and chatty. Seemed like a genuinely nice bloke.

I met him through work in the height of his playing days and he was lovely.

I know someone who worked directly with Peter Kay, and said he is the least pleasant comedian on the scene.
Most pleasant: Jonny Vegas!

Did you ask if she wanted help first, OP? Some people just want to be left alone and that is fine!

'Mark is a millionaire. I think you need something about you to achieve that.'

I have to presume you're one of his sycophantic wingmen. He's got all the talent and charisma of a freezer bag.

And?

What is your talent and millionaire status?

Ballsaque · 10/05/2022 00:21

Kanye West (I had to work for him for 3 days).

an utter dickhead…. Exactly how you’d imagine him to be.
