Most unpleasant celeb you've ever met?

1015 replies

bobbingalongside · 09/05/2022 19:27

I met a well known mum of a celebrity today. I was offering to give her a hand as she had dropped some shopping on the way to her car.

She shouted 'Don't touch! It's fruit Confused' I said oh sorry, thought you needed a hand there. She said no, just don't touch. I'm fine.

I was shocked and walked off.

Have you ever met a celebrity that's been rude? Or sounded rude even if they weren't actually speaking to you?

Bill Bailey. He brought his family to a kids comedy show (he was performing himself later that day) and let his kid (aged about 9 or 10) run around on the stage DURING the show and interrupt. He just sat there laughing. Entitled prick.

He talks about this on the parenting hell podcast episode he was on

Gaby Logan
Nigel Havers
Art Garfunkel
Celine Dion
Robbie Williams

All horrific

NamechangeFML · 09/05/2022 22:26

This may go down like a lead balloon, but Caroline Flack was a brat...

strawberriesarenot · 09/05/2022 22:26

Jonathan Ross arrogant and aggressive
Ian Hislop thought he'd be funny and charming. Absolutely bleak
Chris Packham expected the worst- utterly lovely. Funny and kind. Stayed 2 hours extra making sure he spoke to every kid.

supertedious · 09/05/2022 22:27

Wayne Rooney- Rude and arrogant, entitled so and so.

Brian May, (met through work)- So very lovely, charming and down to earth and spoke to everyone Smile.

Phil Spencer- Really polite, down to earth and handsome.

Sorry to say that I absolutely refuse to watch any of Mr Tumble / Justin Fletcher shows as he is vile.

Anthony Joshua is also vile. The most arrogant man I’ve ever met. Through my family we know loads of professional sports people; mainly footballers & boxers and he is by far the worst. The act for cameras is actually embarrassing if you know him in real life.

I've always thought AJ was a big bland faker and a real life arsehole!

To be fair, I really feel for celebs who are just trying to do their shopping and get accosted for selfies. It's OK to ask if they are doing some publicity stunt, but if they are having dinner or out and about, leave them in peace, I think.

I have a good friend who was in a TV series for years and was unbelievably famous at the time. You couldn't go for a quiet drink with her, couldn't walk down the street, We once tried to take my DC to a fairground and about forty kids swarmed around her. Took her an hour just to get through the autographs. She was always, always sweetness and light but it made me realise I'd be a grumpy git in her position.

I agree with you,but telling a (then) 16 year old to ‘fuck right off’ loudly in her face and then pushed her out of the way was uncalled for

your only as famous as your fans make you

and he lost one right there and then

CornishGem1975 · 09/05/2022 22:30

@NamechangeFML I know someone who worked with her on Love Island and would absolutely say the same.

KitBumbleB · 09/05/2022 22:31

Katie Price was so awful that sometimes I wake in the night, frozen with terror, with visions of her crawling up the bed like a night hag.

BF has worked in and around the royal family for years, he said Camilla is everyone's favourite because she is hilarious, does brilliant impersonations of the rest of the family, and is generous with her cigarettes.

He also said Catherine has to be practically shot out of a cannon to get her on stage for a speech, poor woman gets very nervous.

He also said Prince Charles is a lovely man and great fun.

DishAndSpoonOnTheRun · 09/05/2022 22:33

I agree on both, especially Joshua who bullied my sister at school. Name change as outing

DishAndSpoonOnTheRun · 09/05/2022 22:34

Sorry, autocorrect!
Gary Lineker supports Leicester!!!!! Great

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 09/05/2022 22:34

He patted my niece on the head once. She was about six. They shaved her hair off and sold it on eBay.

( no they didn’t viques, stop over egging the pudding)

🤣 quality viques

DorritLittle · 09/05/2022 22:35

NamechangeFML · 09/05/2022 22:38

@strawberriesarenot ive met chris packham too, and he was very polite. Amazing considering it must take a lot for him to be around people and strangers all the time. What a professional
@CornishGem1975 yeah. Too much of an outing of i told why i thought, this but very rude and thoughtless /inappropriate and her little harem ..

I haven't met many, but Gary Lineaker was not at all the warm self depreciating character he plays on TV. He thinks he's God's gift to women.

I have heard that he is one of those celebrities whose real personality is entirely different from their public persona. And not in a good way.

Gloriousgardener11 · 09/05/2022 22:39

Friend of my DD said that Mary Berry was a ‘right madam’ in shop where she worked - not the dear old national treasure ever one thinks!!

FavouriteDogMug · 09/05/2022 22:39

I spoke to Mark Wright on the phone and he was very polite even though it was a bit of a difficult situation which not every member of the public I have spoken to has been so understanding about.

100problems · 09/05/2022 22:40

Thank hod it wasn't mummy Linda.

I guess if you’re as famous as someone like David Tennant that’s part of the payoff though. You become extremely famous, make a lot of money and sometimes people (fans who support your work) will approach you in public.

To be fair to DT, some of his fans are complete nutters. A family member works in a theatre he performed at, and they had a whole strategy in place for dealing with what sounded like some extremely unbalanced individuals.

Glitterspy · 09/05/2022 22:42

Jeanette Winterson.

ChazzaGirl · 09/05/2022 22:43

Ian Wright used to use a gym near my old office block and was often approached by people wanting autographs and pictures - he was always friendly and chatty. Seemed like a genuinely nice bloke.
