Most unpleasant celeb you've ever met?

I met a well known mum of a celebrity today. I was offering to give her a hand as she had dropped some shopping on the way to her car.

She shouted 'Don't touch! It's fruit Confused' I said oh sorry, thought you needed a hand there. She said no, just don't touch. I'm fine.

I was shocked and walked off.

Have you ever met a celebrity that's been rude? Or sounded rude even if they weren't actually speaking to you?

I have just googled Carol Wright, I wouldn’t know who she was as I would never EVER watch TOWIE as it sounds like a load of rubbish.

Eddie Izzard, Lenny Henry and Gordon Ramsay and Terry Wogan. Safely the four most obnoxious ‘celebs’ I’ve had the misfortune to meet.

I met Eddie and he was lovely.

However I met him when was with another group of famous people backstage. Maybe he's horrid to the great unwashed.

I've met lots of celebrities through my job. Judy Murray is lovely. I knew Bob Geldof years ago when he was much younger and he was very quiet and polite.

As for the rudest celebrity? I've met a few, but the rudest, most arrogant, by a very long way was Nick Knowles.

SwedishDeathCleaner · 09/05/2022 21:19

@FabulousKilljoys - hopefully he's grown up a bit since then!

Finallylostit · 09/05/2022 21:19

Not had conversations with anyone on my list except Ian Botham and Julian Clary - the rest was observation when I waited tables as a student. Says alot about the people just observing them.

PurpleSky300 · 09/05/2022 21:19

Jo Brand - rude and entitled
Alan Carr - very nice

Papergirl1968 · 09/05/2022 21:20

Robert Plant. He was a bit pushy but didn't do the "do you know who I am?" I really didn't have a clue the first time I met him. He waits in line, seems polite and friendly enough. People are used to seeing him around the local area and don't make a fuss.

CrocodilesCry · 09/05/2022 21:20

I've worked with James Martin and he's absolutely lovely. DP has also met him through work a few times and they got on really well.

Alistair Campbell if he counts is also really nice and has a lot of time for people.
Before he was famous but Stephen mulhern stood me up once and I wasn't happy. Now however 🤣🤣

So glad to hear this! I do like Alastair Campbell.

I know several of the people mentioned in this thread all of which are entirely lovely. Why do they have to make friendly conversation when going about their daily lives? It's so Intrusive when out and about and you're trying to have a conversation with a friend or having something to eat , or on your way to the dentist etc. To have every tom dick and Harry stop you , expecting 5 mins chat and a photo

(Although Bob geldolf is absolutely a twat )

Because if you've read the entire thread you'll know that some of us have encountered these people in our place of work, it's not all about us demanding selfies while they're having lunch or shopping.

I agree that James Martin is lovely, met him a few times in different scenarios and he's always been friendly and chatty.

Alan carr is a delight! I was sat behind him on an easy jet flight to Gatwick from Edinburgh in august 2011! He was drunk and was singing and had everyone on the flight singing along! I saw him at the gate and got a selfie with him and I did wander back up with my mum on the phone and asked if he would say hello to her! He spoke to her for a couple of minutes and was saying it's a disgrace he couldn't take a bottle of wine on board to drink (he was joking of course!) was so happy to find I was sat in the row behind!!

FancyFelix · 09/05/2022 21:25

Met cliff Richard about 20 years ago and he was horrible. So totally up himself.

Kanaloa · 09/05/2022 21:25

Also as I said it’s kind of part of the job/trade off for a lot of money and fame. I mean I live in a small town and often have to tolerate children from work when I’m out with my own kids. I don’t particularly enjoy having kids from work come up to me at soft play to ask me to fix their socks when it’s my day off but hey-ho. Part of life is tolerating people even when you can’t be bothered. And if I was being paid the kind of money most celebs are for basically nothing I’d tolerate it a whole lot more cheerfully!

Craig Revel-Horwood isn't very nice either

Oh he stayed where my brother used to work once and everyone said how suprrisingly lovely he was!

Chickenkatsu · 09/05/2022 21:25

I once met someone who worked for an agent and she said that the Chuckle Brothers are lovely to work with but Bobby Davro is a prick.

clairethewitch70 · 09/05/2022 21:26

I have met Professor Ronald Hutton many times and he is such a polite, nice guy, who really knows what he talks about. Joins in with the fun and activities. I spent a few hours in a green room with Linda Lusardi and she wouldn't even acknowledge me.

Thirder · 09/05/2022 21:26

Peter Andre was very friendly. Had a chat with him for about 5 minutes in a queue.
Not at all what I would have expected.

Mumof3pluscat · 09/05/2022 21:26

Howard from the Halifax adverts- arsehole!

I am glad Judy Murray is apparently lovely. I have no interest in tennis but whenever she is on the radio or tv I listen as she has a lovely manner and always has something interesting to say.

My husband met Judy Murray and chatted to her in an Edinburgh pub a few years ago. Said she was absolutely lovely.
