Most unpleasant celeb you've ever met?

I met a well known mum of a celebrity today. I was offering to give her a hand as she had dropped some shopping on the way to her car.

She shouted 'Don't touch! It's fruit Confused' I said oh sorry, thought you needed a hand there. She said no, just don't touch. I'm fine.

I was shocked and walked off.

Have you ever met a celebrity that's been rude? Or sounded rude even if they weren't actually speaking to you?

Debbie harry - Blondie - completely stuck up! Refused to meet any of her fans and referred to them as 'plague carrying peasants'. Clem Burke (her drummer) apologised for that comment and he looked very embarrassed (he's a true gent)

James corden - utter wanker! So full of himself! Very dismissive and treated his stage staff like crap (I used to work in the entertainment industry)

Lewis Hamilton - I have never met anyone more arrogant than him in my entire life!!! Complete drama queen and forever throwing his toys out the pram if things weren't going his way.

Jeremy Clarkson - there are no words!

Oh and the woman from Corrie who played Becky McDonald! Very entitled drama queen too! (She must take tips from Sir Lewis!)

It was Carol Wright

Who? Is she a celebrity in her own right. Hang on, I’m off to google…

SwedishDeathCleaner · 09/05/2022 21:11

Jared Leto - absolute prick. I approached him very shyly when I was a teenager and he sneered and smirked at me and stared me down until I shuffled off almost in tears. He wasn't even particularly famous at that point.

Our daughter clocked Tom Hanks as they were going up to a swanky bar - anniversary treat in a roof top place in a posh hotel in London . He was waiting by the lift, saw that she had recognised him, before she could look away he smiled at her. Raised his hand and smiled a knowing smile as if to say, i know you are gobsmacked but Hi, absolutely made her day.

I absolutely LOVE this guy!!!

Shufflebumnessie · 09/05/2022 21:11

Richard Fairbrass, lead singer of Right Said Fred.
Vanilla Ice
Jeremy Kyle
Robbie Williams
Jamie Oliver
Davina McCall

All of the above were vile, obnoxious, arrogant individuals.
Richard Fairbrass was actually escorted off by police officers as he was extremely verbally abusive to myself and my colleague, and threatening physical violence.

On the bright side, the majority of celebrities that I've met have been surprisingly friendly.

Paul McCartney.
Wanker.

It must have been a bad day! My sister and her family met him at Heathrow, and he came up to them as their baby was crying, and he was lovely!

Time2ChangeName · 09/05/2022 21:12

The few famous people I’ve met I’ve never asked for a selfie. I’ve normally just said that I enjoy xyz and I just wanted to come and say hi and my aim is not to draw attention to them.

Misunderestimated · 09/05/2022 21:12

Long ago, working in the ITN building Angela Rippon and Selina Scott were horrid to one and all, Sir Trevor McDonald would hold the door open for everyone and thank anyone for asking for an autograph - a very chivalrous knight.
My mother would take a bullet for Anton Du Beke who was kindness personified and a friend's mum spent an hour in the company of a very entertaining 'tall German man' who thought it was hilarious that someone in London didn't recognise Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Finallylostit · 09/05/2022 21:12

Ian Botham - lovely
Kapil Dev lovely
Ian Taylor GB Hockey Goalie Olympian - complete arse
DJ Doc Fox - arsehole
Julian Clary - absolutely divine

Wintersgirl · 09/05/2022 21:13

Yes I can confirm that Linda Lusardi is a lovely, she was very warm and genuine when I met her..

bluebellwoods55 · 09/05/2022 21:13

Jimmy Carr -he sighed begrudgingly as held the door open for me when I walked into café with my baby in a pram.

maddy68 · 09/05/2022 21:13

I know several of the people mentioned in this thread all of which are entirely lovely. Why do they have to make friendly conversation when going about their daily lives? It's so Intrusive when out and about and you're trying to have a conversation with a friend or having something to eat , or on your way to the dentist etc. To have every tom dick and Harry stop you , expecting 5 mins chat and a photo

(Although Bob geldolf is absolutely a twat )

Bonjovispjs · 09/05/2022 21:13

Lenny Henry, miserable git!

Ouch really? That's rubbish! I've met him a few times and he was nice, quite chatty and friendly.

Tigertigertigertiger · 09/05/2022 21:13

“Suggs’s mum is an arsehole“

she’s dead.
what an unpleasant thread

jeannie46 · 09/05/2022 21:13

Sam West - as a youngster, my daughter had a very, very minor part in one of his productions. He was absolutely delightful to all the cast. Paid for them all to go out for a meal when the run ended. Fantastic!

WimbyAce · 09/05/2022 21:13

I am not at all surprised by Carol Wright, she comes across as full of her own importance and I bet her daughter Jess is the same too.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 09/05/2022 21:14

Blinky21 · 09/05/2022 21:09

Mick Hucknall was the rudest I've ever encountered and a couple of people I know have stories about David Walliams. Nicest was Craig David

Craig David supported a fundraiser for a charity I work with and was lovely. He really went the extra mile and was incredibly kind and respectful. I have to admit that I was expecting him to be an arse, but he could not have been nicer.

hellcatspanglelalala · 09/05/2022 21:15

CornishGem1975 · 09/05/2022 19:31

James Martin.

Adam Woodyat.

I agree with James Martin. He is so far up his own arse.

LMB0716 · 09/05/2022 21:16

How weird! I met Alan Shearer coming out of the football ground. He was lovely! I asked for his autograph and he said yes, then I realised I didn’t have a pen so he signed it using his own pen then told me I could keep it in case any other players came out! X

David Baddiel, mid 90s (I was a shop girl - he was quite rude) but DH met him
several years later and said he was a decent bloke. Maybe I just met him on a bad day.
Cilla - very unpleasant.
Paul and Linda McCartney - eye opening, that’s all I’ll say.
Much nicer celebs I’ve met include Keir Starmer, John Major, McKenzie Crook, Jarvis Cocker, Tom Hiddleston.
Noel Gallagher often gets a bad rep, but I’ve met him a couple of times and he’s been alright.

Surprised about the McCartney one - eye-opening in what way?

ReginaPhalangeIsMyTwin · 09/05/2022 21:16

Oh and Gareth Gates! He was performing onboard p&o Britannia in July 2018! He announced he would meet fans after the show but stood there constantly looking at his watch. I got a picture with him and as I was walking away, I heard him say to his entourage "how much longer do I need to do this for?"

My DH met Sir Trevor years ago and said he was really lovely.

PurpleSky300 · 09/05/2022 21:17

Edwina Currie - very nice
Sue Perkins - polite but prickly
Mary McCartney - lovely

LocalHobo · 09/05/2022 21:17

David Jason, the rudest.
I feel I should defend Adam Woodyatt as a fellow parent at DC's school. He seemed to keep his head down at events unlike some other, one previously mentioned on this thread, celebrity parents.
