Has anyone heard of tattlelife, or am I out of touch? It was mentioned on the radio today, so I had to take a look.
Wow! What a negative site, I could not believe the viciousness of the posters on there. Some of the vloggers, intagrammers I am aware of and don't particularly like, so I don't follow them, so don't understand the effort these people put into criticism and spitefullness.
I most definitely won't be going down that rabbit hole again, made me feel dirty.

The Off Topic threads on Tattle about Mumsnet are hilarious! They are currently discussing this thread 😂

That thread is golden. I've been looking for a different forum to read that isn't the cesspool that is reddit might have to register 🤔

The jack monroe threads are an absolute cespit, vile vile vile disgusting comments all while thinking they're funny. When did mocking someone for their mental health struggles become acceptable

I disagree. The people on there have brought to light what a huge grifter and liar Monroe is. They are very enlightening. For example, for all Monroe's lefty credentials and yelling at Tory politicians on Twitter, she hasn't paid her taxes in about two years and earns at least two grand a month through her Patreon which provides absolutely nothing to her subscribers, all while Monroe claims to be living on the breadline.

jack Monroe is someone who suddenly pulls mental health issues out of the bag when she is criticised. She sends her flying monkeys to bully people (recently boasting about breaking someone by making them switch their comments of after her fans had told him to drink bleach and called him every nasty slur in the book) yet begs people to be nice because she has rejection sensitive dysphoria or blames her bad behaviour on a "fugue state".

See also the palava last week where she comes back from Venice one day and the next is telling everyone about how she is so poor she can't heat her house leading to her arthritis getting worse.

People send her a lot of money off the back of her poverty cosplaying.

PansyPetunia · 08/05/2022 14:41

Good to see this thread still here....

Tattle is fast becoming a favourite. Mumsnet is too boring these days with dodgy layout changes and endless deletions

Tattle is more open honest and fun... and funny!

GrimDamnFanjo · 08/05/2022 14:41

I read a few threads over there. Celeb gossip, Gender etc.
I agree on some threads you can't go against the majority without your arse being handed to you.
I also read Fruit Farms and arrse- the rise of Facebook shut down a few forums so I like reading views from a wider cross section than Mumsnet.

PansyPetunia · 08/05/2022 14:41

And I'm also laughing at the thought of Jack monroe being an 'activist'!!!

@LidlMissSunshine That's a lovely line of arguing you've both formed and answered of your own. I didn't say any of those things.

I said, you people seem to pop up everywhere Jack Monroe is mentioned and you seem unhinged, like people lunging at you with a Bible on the tube.

Maybe you think this approach is persuasive? I promise you, it isn't. You just seem fanatical.

It's weird to me how people can post stuff like this on MN yet think that they're the superior ones and Tattle is a cesspit of vile bullies.

Classica · 08/05/2022 15:03

I read the thread on Dr Jessica Taylor yesterday. Most informative.

I'm not a member but I read the Ashley Cain threads because anyone with half a brain can see he's spending fundraising money on all kinds of toot.

Yet so many people don't. I had suspicions on him and his ex and when I went on tattle, they were solidified. They've profited off their child's death.
I enjoy tattle, I enjoy Mumsnet. They're both very different forums in what they allow. Some posts can be rude on both forums.

What do you mean ‘you people’?

I’m unclear how you calling me unhinged and fanatical makes you better than what you’re objecting to?

WilmaFlintstone1 · 08/05/2022 15:08

I read Tattle at times and they have indeed “got the receipts” on many. Some people in the public eye are very good at bending the truth to for the narrative. Jack Monroe being a key player here.

Cosplaying poverty while renting an expensive property in Thorpe Bay.
Going on about being a single parent when the slightest digging shows her son lives virtually FT with his Dad.
Performative £20 shops and saying she has fed three people on them when her recipes show ingredients NOT in the shop and it also doesn’t include cleaning or personal hygiene stuff. Plays right into the hands of those who think people in poverty are feckless with their money because if Jack can do it anyone can. No Jack can’t do it and never has.
Don’t get me started about her comments on childhood poverty. Grew up in a five bed home with well paid parents in good jobs, grandfather was a landlord who left a sizeable inheritance to his family when he died.

She is an absolute narcissist.

Apart from that Tattle can be a cesspit….a bit like here sometimes.

luciatrope · 08/05/2022 15:17

I'm not clued-up on instagrammers and the like so I stick to reading the traditional celeb board, but even then I don't particularly care about the people they post threads about. I suppose it's a way to idle away a few mins. The smiley ratings at the bottom of each post annoy me, though. Too FB-like.

TheGrinchsDog · 08/05/2022 15:17

Yeah I think it depends on the threads too. Some of them are actually alright, some posters are a bit much.

The real problem for me is the mods over there. They are cliquey and rude as fuck to some users, others seem to get preferential treatment because they are all matey and up the mods arses. I left because of that but still pop in now and then for the inside scoop on my favourite Sleb drama lol.

inmyslippers · 08/05/2022 15:22

part from that Tattle can be a cesspit….a bit like here sometimes

^* agreed. I would never comment on someone's Instagram. The old saying nothing to nice to say don't say anything at all but some of these influencer's are just soo fake and insincere. I can see why they hate tattle it points out their lies and hypocrisies.

inmyslippers · 08/05/2022 15:23

  • I had no idea she had a thread. Her new books been on my read list for some time
jamoncrumpets · 08/05/2022 15:28

@Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious At the time it the incredibly sad stuff was happening I posted on here saying we should not be seeing those intimate moments on social media. And that there must be money involved. I was absolutely shot down.

People have changed their minds now...

NumbLittlePea · 08/05/2022 15:29

ermagerdabear · 08/05/2022 09:47

As far as I'm aware, posting addresses on Tattle isn't allowed and any that are posted are swiftly deleted. However, for a lot of these influencers, it isn't hard to work out exactly where they live due to the sheer amount of info they themselves give out. For those with children especially, they're either a bit thick or absolutely desperate for attention and can't help showing off.

I can confirm that private addresses are exchanged via DM on Tattle - ones that aren’t available on Companies House etc. But Tattle say it goes against their rules

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 08/05/2022 15:33

They must have done. But I agree. No child or anyone should have their final few weeks paraded around like a show. I also don't think parents should be able to use their children for cash, like many YouTubers, Instagrammers, children are too young to understand what they would consent to and the parents just don't care about their kids private lives.

There are a couple of threads on the feminism boards here about her behaviour and her new book.

Carrotten · 08/05/2022 16:53

But no one has given a shit about Jack Munroe for years apart from people who hate Jack Munroe!

It's like people think they are pulling out a trump card by outing these people but the majority of people done care

CuriousCatfish · 08/05/2022 16:54

I've had a look in the past. The remove your adblocker thing is annoying though. I'm not interested enough in influencers to be bothered. In fact I've never heard of most people they are obsessed with.

Carrotten · 08/05/2022 16:58

Even Ashley Cain, I found the whole thing uncomfortable at the time. I saw he's clearly a knob and yes probably has profited off his child's death.

I don't need to rehash that over and over again on tattle. He's a nobody, it's unpleasant but once we've realised his behaviour I don't need to continue posting evidence over and over again which is what happens on tattle

People over and over again posting the same negative things about celebs. Finding evidence to justify their negativity, winding each other up and getting more and more vile. Its that weird obsession that tattle fuels about people we don't even know

chisanunian · 08/05/2022 17:01

Someone told me about it so I had a 5-minute look on there a couple of years ago. That was enough really, not my cup of tea.

Each to their own though.🙂
