Passport application or renewal timelines in one place at a glance -add yours!

In the light of the hefty current backlog of processing passport applications, I thought it might be informative to start a thread for keeping an eye on other people's timelines for the applications for and renewal of UK passports. Personally, I'm hoping for reassurance at best, or a grim-faced reality check at worst.
I'll start. How about this format:
Type of passport requested: 2x DC UK renewals
Date of application: 18th of April
Method: Check and Send at local post office
Anyone want to add their stats?

They rang me totally about of the blue at 7.30 this morning! I was just out of the shower so it was lucky I picked up.

I asked about timing and they said that DS’s application won’t go to the back of the queue or anything as a result of this but he admitted the backlog is really slowing uploading of documents to the system.

I’m so annoyed with myself because he’s literally be done now if I hadn’t messed up.

I an idlily musing an idea .
They have told me to ting back 2 weeks before my flights for escalation of my passport.
They said they will need proof of my flight.

I wonder if I send a copy of now in advance would hopefully help the final 2 weeks .

Doubt if it will get put on the system...but what have I got to loose ?

Well here is an interesting update..

I just had a phone call from someone asking to speak to me .
He said something about HM Passport.
(I was on loud speaker but he was still very quiet.)

I started talking ...and then the call ended !

I rang the number back and got voice mail thing explaing that they work on behalf of other companies !?

I need to listen to it again.

But I checked the other call back number that had rung

Completely different.

This one was from Slough (my phone showed it)

The other number started with the pp number of 0300.

Are they out sourcing their enquiries now ??!!

This is the Slough number 01753204983, it's the requested call back team. Tbh they can't really help either but they did forward me on to the progress team.

So frustrating!
All they need to do is clear the April applications , then would not have to out source other companies for useless call backs !!!

I’m still waiting at 13wks now because DH put our marriage date one day out, on a child renewal even when both parents have existing full passports and not moved house in years 🙄they have had our marriage cert 11wks… I started chase emails 2-wks ago Liverpool office. Bloomin hope they haven’t lost the marriage cert!!

Waiting time quoted as 11 weeks

Old passport delivered to Durham on 24 May
Receipt confirmed online on 14 June (i.e. a three week delay)

Update: application approved on 21 June
Now awaiting printing

Sort of an update on the passport we’re still waiting for.

Type of passport requested: 1 child renewal
Date of application: 1st April
Method: online with old passport sent to Liverpool
Application status: photo was rejected on 20th April, submitted another same day, no progress since.

I started emailing when it got to 10 wks on 10 June - I’ve had replies from Expedited Service and separately from Liverpool saying it has now “entered examination”. That was nearly a week ago, nothing since, still don’t know if the replacement photo has been approved.

Also emailed to my MP, got a response today 11 days later (fair enough, she is v busy) but whoever replied for her has counted the weeks wrong and says the application doesn’t get to 10 weeks til 1st July (it will be 13 wks by then!) but get in touch again if no need by then. If I do that and it takes another 11 days to reply it will be nearly 15wks by then. I we fly 23 July (rearranged from May half term). Am thinking of going to passport office on Monday to try my luck. What a shitshow.

Whoohoo finally 13wks later and after emailing the escalation team on Monday it’s changed application to sent to be printed !! But have been warned it couple be another 2-wks to receive back supporting documents that will be 4-months - ridiculous- I’ve got to redo my other child’s passport in Sept.. dreading that now.

UPDATE
Just had un planned phone call from passport office.
Person was checking my application....

My marriage certificate and old passport have a 3rd middle name on them ,,,that I forgot to put in the application form .(I am such an idiot !)

I don't use it ,so completely forgot about it .

She asked if I wanted it on this passport, and if I didn't I would need a name change application or something?

I said of course put it on !!

Just had message to say approved !
Phew . though to be fair I don't know if that was the delay?

But at least they rang straight away.

Should get it next week.

5 yr old grandchild expired passport born and living overseas, new one issued and back overseas within 6 weeks

Babies first passport arrived today- application started 6.5 weeks ago but we were a bit slow to send documents- they were sent approx 5.5 weeks ago.

sent Application (A) renew - 7th May
received documents at Durham - 21st May

sent Application (B) Childs first - 7th May
received documents at Liverpool - 20th may

still waiting and taking the bloody piss :((((( all done via post office wish I’d done it online now

and mine is only just approved

I did ring and got a call back last week. Whether that triggered something,I don't know.

My ds's (x2) came back in the 3 week mark .

@bizzey no way yours has taken 8 weeks? Did you do yours via post too?

Partner has just renewed online and it took 2 weeks from submitting to receiving the passport this morning. Couldn’t quite believe it after seeing how difficult it’s been for so many people.

Mine has only got to approved mind you ....still need it printed and dispatched yet !

When I got the messages the the DC's passports had been approved, they were printed and sent within 24 hours.

Sons renewal and for some reason I have been asked to send in a copy of his birth certificate.

Anybody know why this might be?

I have no idea which gods I have pleased, but I have to go to the post office tomorrow to collect my new one - they tried to deliver it today but I was at work!

Interesting about the different delivery methods .

First Passport to arrive...knock at door and I took it.

Second Passport..just the lovely sound of ..."plop" and having been deliverd through letter box !

As I said earlier,I messed up my application by forgetting about my other middle name on the application.

Could you have accidentally done a spelling error?
