Here we go again! Is this game getting easier, or will we all be wallowing in the hundreds in a day or two? Only time will tell!

The relief of finding the word is quickly followed by feeling bereft that it’s over.

I solved Semantle #79 in 31 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 11.08. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #27. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 34.39 (403/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

Yesterday’s was interesting because it’s commonplace usage is pragmatic, sanguine and that didn’t help iirc

It took me 49 guesses to get a green but then I got it in 6!

Managed it without thesaurus or clues today, which I was pretty pleased about until I saw how quickly many of you are getting it - took me 72 guesses. I got 624 really early and that diverted me down a completely different path until I went back to random words, finally hitting 805 got me straight there.

Unexpected, given I was going down a complete wrong route somehow - I was typing a word and my fat thumb accidentally pressed the last letter wrong, but the accidental word was 636. Got there quickly after that Grin

Got 876 with my third word and couldn’t get higher. Eventually a quick glance at relatedwords got me there with my next guess.

Another day that helps lower my average! My first green was the secret word, but the idea came from a few guesses in the high 20s similarity, which I'm surprised weren't higher, so it wasn't completely random.
