I only had four greens, 340 was one of them, try words around that

I solved Semantle #78 in 44 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 15.98. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #16. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 46.21 (939/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

My best in ages.
I had a low green followed by lots of high colds. Finally got 939 which I’m surprised wasn’t higher and my next guess was correct. Yay!

@LiveintheNow thanks, will keep trying, but I am at the point where I am constantly putting in words I have already tried, as well as plenty more cold ones 😫

Finally stumbled across it thanks to this suggestion to focus on 340 despite my highest green being 901.

I solved Semantle #78 in 117 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 14.12. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #31. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 43.33 (866/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

Have been AWOL for the last few days as we had family staying, and I thought that sitting transfixed by Semantle on my laptop for hours would be a bit antisocial

Agreed. Looking at the green word list I am amazed I got it with just a thesaurus and a hint here.

And I salute anyone who finds greens in the top 100 as I had none of those before solving it and they are not words I use at all!

I had plenty of high green words and still struggled to solve it without a clue!

I was wondering what the heck 888 is until I remembered US spelling.

There are a LOT of words in the greens that I've never heard of, let alone use on the reg. That said, the target word is a fairly normal one, and 977 is fairly near to it.
