And so the madness continues! Here's our 9th thread to discuss, boast and rant about the game that is more pointless than Pointless, needs Masterminds to solve and will make Eggheads of us all, what with the amount of hair-pulling it induces!

Impressive brookstar!

I got 647 in my 70th ish guess, then got loads of greens before a hint about zooming out helped me to the end…

I solved Semantle #75 in 138 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 13.36. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #68. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 4.94. semantle.novalis.org/

Got 647 then 1000 from your clue. With no greens. People saying topical had me going everywhere.

Suddenly realised I hadn’t done this. My first sub 20! Complete fluke, obviously.

I think I'm going to have to stop playing this, I couldn't get it even with all your clues and got fed up in the end! I wonder if this uses the same part of the brain as cryptic crosswords as I'm crap at them too.

First time my first word has been a green - half of you seem to manage that every day. Glad it’s done as I have a busy one tomorrow!

I got green on my second guess and then lots more greens quite quickly but then I tried to narrow it down a bit too quickly and they went off in a slightly wrong direction for a while..

My best ever. Hit 853 on my 4th guess and while I didn't go directly to the target I was frequently hitting greens to help me work towards it.

My first word had nothing to do with the answer despite the high similarity!

@BettyBootsie you’re on the right lines, the high words and target word are in a specific context, you’re using very general synonyms.
