Since weve almost managed to fill our 6th thread I thought I should start the next so we have somewhere to sc

If you're lucky enough not to know what I'm on about Semantle is a word game like Wordle. You need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics, not letters. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

Took a slightly offbeat route but made it in the end!
I solved Semantle #66 in 82 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 7.17. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #24. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 23.24 (162/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

I got one in the 990s out of nowhere and a short while later got it. Feels like a long time since I had a straightforward run of things.

I solved Semantle #66 in 32 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 2.95. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #28. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 27.71 (655/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

Yes possibly... Think really broad from there and it might lead you. There is a connection but it's loose.

Better than yesterday, I got stuck in a low green cup de sac early on again. The order of some of the top 5 is weird.

I solved Semantle #66 in 46 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 9.25. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #15. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 78.68 (999/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

But frustratingly I got 996 on my 18th guess. Then took a while to work out what it wanted. I thought I put in 995 earlier than I did too...

Hmm. Got some 900s quickly but everything related that I can think of seems not to be.

Think about what happens in 960, might get you a bit higher.

958s are not generally thought of as 1000, usually the opposite.
Likewise 1000 does not usually correlate with 958

I gave up I the end, I wouldn't have got to that word myself.

Stuck on 998 and know naff all about the apparent topic... might be a while yet!

Doh. I was going to try that but it didn't seem to fit with other clues. So I did something similar but never tried that. Feel a bit stupid, knowing how this works. Could have been 59 but got 97 🤦‍♀️

Got it in one to test what i found yesterday. Because it seems that Semantle has been going a long time and they are recycling the words. On the same dates! I only looked up today's so I'll be back cursing it tomorrow.

Thank goodness for one of the clues here - nearly 60 guesses since I got into the top 10 words and I finally got it. Looks like others are doing the exact same!
