Since weve almost managed to fill our 6th thread I thought I should start the next so we have somewhere to sc

If you're lucky enough not to know what I'm on about Semantle is a word game like Wordle. You need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics, not letters. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

I solved Semantle #65 in 27 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of -1.17. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #26. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 59.16 (997/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

I solved Semantle #65 in 35 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 46.25 (981/1000).My penultimate guess had a similarity of 29.13 (632/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

Frustratingly, my first guess was pretty close - just took 34 more to get it

We’ve definitely had a very similar word before. I only had one green and that was a part of the final word

Well that was frustrating near the end.

I'm now over 100 guesses in and can't get higher than 981 - any hints?

I solved Semantle #65 in 143 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 16.33. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #18. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 15.71. semantle.novalis.org/

I got there without clues, but it seemed to come out of nowhere! I tend to go with a scattergun approach, just throwing words at it to see what sticks, as can be seen from my average (155.47 😂)

949 and 970 are probably more useful synonyms here

I’m going from one extreme to another - 11 guesses yesterday, but today I’m 221 guesses in and only have 3 low greens

It’s annoying but also nice that it’s so much harder this time!

I'm on guess 428 and still only have 6 greens, with the highest being 730.

I'm stuck at 952 - is it even remotely related?

952 used practically often leads to 1000, especially when mutual.

I’m stuck! I’ve got 763, 364, 334, 140 and 100 cold guesses…

@AngeloMysterioso 334 relies on something from the participants or it falls apart.

Thanks for the clues @InMySpareTime - they got me over the line.

I'm a bit stuck, not least as I've got Vanilla Ice doing loops in my head after @Etinoxaurus's "clue" got me 944 (when I already had 970) but then I saw that it gave @Ricardothesnowman 954 and now I can't stop running through the lyrics (yes, I know them off by heart; showing my age!) none of which make any sense when I think about 970, other than 944, which I've already got At least it'll keep me occupied this evening!
