If you're lucky enough not to know what I'm on about Semantle is a word game like Wordle. You need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics, not letters. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

^^ My first green was 55 and my second was 295. This were my only greens so very lucky.

I solved Semantle #64 in 44 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 4.02. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #2. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 10.08. semantle.novalis.org/

Fun tip for any other saddos who do Wordlerry (Harry Styles inspired wordle) - I used the word from that first off and got 770/1000 as a starting point.

Oh, I hate this sodding game.165 guesses, umpteen greens. Also highest 990 with another 30 odd greens all on the same theme. Any attempt to head sideways or change part of speech is unsuccessful. Random guessing starts now.

All these people who got it out of nowhere makes me think it might be a pretty straightforward word! I started it in the middle of the night when I couldn’t sleep and hoped I’d wake up inspired but no. Good luck @PinkSorbet.

I came at it from one meaning of the word only, and was stuck with similar but low scoring words for ages.

Well, I already had it as a green and it hasn’t led me to the answer quickly. Just other similar greens. I think my brain is wired weirdly.

@MrsLargeEmbodied I know, what are the chances?! I used my usual starter word which was a negative. Flicked through and saw the spoiler and tried to use a word that I thought would be similar but not it. Didn’t work
