Since weve almost managed to fill our 6th thread I thought I should start the next so we have somewhere to sc

If you're lucky enough not to know what I'm on about Semantle is a word game like Wordle. You need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics, not letters. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

We tend to use the threads to rant about how we're getting nowhere, celebrate our successes and laugh about the previous day's top 1000 but please, no spoilers. Subtle hints only here; use DMs for more obvious clues.

Confused Complete fluke today.

I solved Semantle #64 in 9 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 11.71. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #9. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 9.43. semantle.novalis.org/

Wow you are all getting the answer very quickly! I have made 130 guesses and found 13 close words but can’t get closer than 936/100. My second closest is 929/1000.

@Took 86! I’m wondering if some of the close words are misleading. People seem to be getting the answer without finding other close ones. I might try a change of direction. Though really I should just go to bed! Grin

I don't think 610 is helpful at all. I would keep guessing until you find a different green.

I solved Semantle #64 in 37 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 0.16. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #17. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 21.98 (295/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

Well that was weird. Got a green. Couldn't get any more, so it seemed and then lucked on getting the answer. Bit quicker than yesterday, which was another 130 attempts .....
