@Justanotherobserver I once attended a dinner party including David Cameron. I have voted Tory every election since 1979. When he was leader I voted for my local Tory MP who was a good egg, but withdrew my support for the party overall.

I delivered newspapers for a large number of tge cabinet in the mid 1980s, including Kenneth Baker, the Education Secretary who dreamt up Baker Days, now known as Inset Days, also Bernard Wetherall, the Speaker of the time and at least two Old Bailey judges, and the family of someone about my age who has subsequently become a fairly high profile MP and Minister - at one point the minister of the Dept I work for.

RosesAndHellebores · 26/03/2022 20:46

I didn't think it was possible to get a third with honours.

I'm a gifted artist but I don't work hard enough at it because I doubt myself. This has been a problem since Covid started and I can't seem to get my groove back!Sad

I have been able to mirror-write perfectly since I was 3. Am also left-handed. Am also very good at languages. I think all of the aforementioned are related.

@Justanotherobserver

If it was you need to do a full AMA! Grin

I saved the lives of three people, in three separate incidents, in one single day when I was 16.

As an aside: everybody should learn basic first aid as a matter of course.

Ginandvomits · 27/03/2022 02:10

@Tarkan

I once had to get out of the way so I wasn't run over by Prince Charles when out waking in the glens.

Slightly further along the path we said hello to two women walking the other way. DM is adamant to this day that one of them was Camilla. This was well before they were properly public about their relationship too.

Similar only it was The Queen and Prince Philip. She was driving (fast!), he was in the passenger seat and they were driving back to Windsor castle along Long walk. Everyone walking on the path scattered. I was pushing a pram, she didn't even slow down.

I’m in my 40s and discovered my bi side in my early 30s; never looked back.

newbienel · 27/03/2022 09:17

12 years ago I used to watch my boyfriend play football with prince William and Harry every year on Boxing Day near Sandringham for charity. It was always the posh locals that would play and my boyfriends mum worked for a nearby rich family so he also got invited to play too. I was disappointed to see prince William up close as his hair was definitely receding, even then. A few years later the press got wind of the traditional yearly football match and they stopped it.

When I was a student the rock band Good Charlotte asked me and my friend if we wanted to come backstage and smoke joints with them in their tour bus. We both refused as we had a 9am lecture the next day.

mnahmnah · 27/03/2022 09:29

When I was 17 I spent the summer in Denmark. While there I was asked to go off on a motorbike into the sunset with a satanist. Also asked to run off to Sweden with a hippie. I spent time painting danish army barracks and building a firing range. Weeded a museum’s pond. It was an interesting summer! Then back to boring school and my A-levels!

popcornfrenzy · 27/03/2022 15:01

@HollowTalk it's the crematorium technician thread - don't know how to link it.

I had a temporary job in Miss Selfridge near Bond Street before I went to college in 1973. I served Lulu, but must have been flustered, because I forgot to take the security tag off, and she was alerted at the door and had to come back to have it removed.

NewBuildLurker · 27/03/2022 17:29

I slept with a famous footballer and it's small!!! Grin

VladmirsPoutine · 27/03/2022 17:57

In my student days I was a general runner/help for a company that helped mega wealthy families and was propositioned more than once by apparently happily married men.

I wore panty liners on my feet today.

@AlternativelyWired

I wore panty liners on my feet today.
Why?
bottleofbeer · 27/03/2022 21:50

Course you can get a 3rd with honours. Hons just means you wrote a dissertation.

BTW, if you don't recognise faces, it's called Prosopagnosia.

Oh, are you the poster whose children gave her home-made slippers for Mother's Day? It was the first thing that flashed through my mind Blush

Glitter, too, apparently.
